Prius Project Concept Bike

Is this (brain wave shifting) the new generation of bike gear shifting?

Wow. This is crazy. I don't see how it could catch on.

I would prefer a gauge detecting the need to shift as i felt the saddle further and further up my ar$$

Kindof a paraphrase from Cav's description of his need for more gears climbing TDF a few years ago before we get all bent on word choice

"The headset detects electrical signals from the wearer's brain, then sends the pattern to a computer, usually a netbook or tablet strapped to the rider's back inside a vest."

Can teams count the weight of the computer as the weight of the bicycle? What happens on a hot day in the TdF when thermal shutdown is tripped?

The best idea hidden in the story is the dev has an iphone interface to the shifter. I smell an Apple-sponsored World Tour team.... What could possibly go wrong using a wireless signal to shift a bike?
