MULTIPLE CHOICE AVAILABLE

Semi final 2. Stage races. I have only put PT stages on the list for obvious reasons. However if you saw better stages at non pt stage races, feel free to post them as write in candidates.

Paris Nice stage 6 - Peynier to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, 220 km - Tondo
Paris Nice stage 7 - Nice, 119 km - Moinard
Tirreno–Adriatico stage 4 - San Gemini to Chieti, 243 km - Scarponi
Tirreno–Adriatico stage 6 - Montecosaro to Macerata, 134 km - Ignatiev
Vuelta Ciclista al País Vasco Stage 4 - Murgia to Eibar, 170 km - Sammy Sanchez
Tour de Romandie Stage 4 - Vevey to Châtel-Saint-Denis, 157.9 km - Spillack
Tour de Romandie Stage 5 - Sion to Sion, 121.8 km - Valverde/ Anton
Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 6 - Crolles to Alpe d'Huez, 151.5 km - Contador
Tour de Suisse Stage 6 - Meiringen to La Punt 213.3 km - Gesink
Tour de Pologne Stage 5 - Jastrzębie-Zdrój to Ustroń, 149 km - Daniel Martin

I named that one - and the Castilla y León stage with Mosquera attacking and dragging Antón and Contador with him, then Soler bridging across, and the subsequent four-man battle royale - as my favourite stages of the year.

Of this list though, Tondó's P-N win, easily.

I believe that neither Paris-Nice nor Tirreno-Adriatico are ProTour, mind. I think the Dauphiné isn't either?

Burgos isn't Pro-Tour tgsgirl.....

Either way, went for the stage Sammy Sanchez won in Basque Country... Rained attacks late, and was some good, open fun. Also Gesink outsprinted Valverde for 2nd (gotta love that).

And, of course, the Tour de Suisse stage to La Punt. Some epic high mountain climbing, with a great performance by the winner (whose names escapes me for some reason :p)

They might not be ProTour (I honestly don't know) but they are included in the World Ranking.... Which suffices for the purposes of the poll. I guess they don't officially want ProTour status so they wouldn't have to invite dead-beat teams like Footon. :p

I did say you could write in non PT stages.

Not really. I did make it very confusing by saying its the PT stage of the year then allowing none PT stages for write in. Problem is if i dont specify PT then i get people complaining that stage 5 from the Tour of Bulgaria or god knows where isnt on the list. Im only allowed 10 poll options so for that its PT since they get the coverage. But any great stages you saw please feel free to share them with us. But only stage races. Your local crit champs count as 1 day ;)

BTW... You do know that Gesink's win in Switzerland will take this, right? The Dutch Mafia on the forum will insure that. Ditto for Classic of the Year.

I was stuck in 2 minds whether to include it or sweep it under the carpet by replacing stage 6 with the Frank Schleck one. I could also have split the Dutch vote by include Baukes win in the great one though i suspect that would have won by an even bigger landslide.

Oh well i will forever be able to use this as proof that the Dutch mafia exists. Especially to "the youngest", a staunch defender of your Omerta.

If worst comes to worse ill just wake up with a hooker and some marijuana next to me on my bed ;)

Yes, you even think that some German guys making up a list of the 50 biggest cycling talents have fallen prey to the dark power of Dutch bias :p Let's instate a rule that the Dutch guys on this forum can't vote anymore, so that Tejay van Garderen and Taylor Phinney will win every poll.

Please... I haven't revealed jack-squat. It's not like I've told everyone the location of our secret meeting place in the Scottish Highlands.

Well, one of my choices was really obvious. (the Dutch mafia willed it so :p)

The other was the scarponi win in Tirreno

@ the youngest, Tejay is one of ours nowadays, he is of Dutch lineage and even lived with family in the Netherlands for quite some time, I even believe he speaks Dutch ;)

Actually I don't believe he is of Dutch lineage at all... I think I remember hearing somewhere that van Garderen is the name of his (Dutch) step-father.

If you think the Dutch are socialists then you've clearly got us figured out wrong.

EDIT: I see Barrus has already defended us. CAPITALISM FTW BABY!!!

Well i did spend a while looking for Dutch stereotypes on the internet and it was all i could find. That and "everyone thinks copenhagen is your capital"

Not me though. I always knew it was Brussels :D
