Race wheel depth 60/60 or 60/90

I'm looking at getting a set of race wheels this season. I'm trying to decide between getting a 60/60 or 60/90 combo. I will be using the wheels for RR, TT's and some Triathlons. I have narrowed it down to either a set of Williams wheels or Boyd wheels. I've been looking at these two companies because they seem to have good review and my budget is around $1200, also I want them to be clinchers. The riding around where I live and will be racing for the most part is flat with very few hills and even the ones we have are very short. Any input would get or suggestions of other wheel companies to look at.

If you're looking for a size that does everything well I'd stick with 60/60. A 90mm rear rim rides terribly for one, and you're going to hate them for RR or crits. And if it's a race day only set they should be tubulars, not clinchers.

Personally, I wouldn't consider a 90 for a road race wheel. 60 is enough especially if they are to deal with all situations.

uh huh, and the other 99% of his colleagues are on tubulars.

fair point, although he was the 1% that won. Of course, his win may have nothing to do with the rim/tyre type.

I have to agree, though, from personal experience that tubs have always "felt" faster than clincher - and I ride Schwalbe Ultremo's at the moment which are generally regarded as some of the fastest clinchers going around.
