While perhaps not so brazen about it, I would just like to remind you that Assos do market their own brand of nut butter. It isn't totally unheard of for apparel manufacturers to provide 'skincare' :D

Its one thing to supply cream for your chammy's and another to step in beauty products. FWIW I think the Rapha market will eat this up.

I bought some, it works, just like Assos does, so too the embrocation cream, normally mix up my own from Neals Yard but thought I's give the "R" a go, works fine...
Can't see what the problem is.

I like Rapha stuff, have a jersey, hat, and jacket. Some of the best cycling gear I've ever owned in my 20+ years of cycling. Luckily I'm industry so I don't have to pay retail, but wholesale isn't exactly cheap either, I'll pay for quality anyway on the bike because I wear cheapass street clothes so I'm justifying owning the good stuff. Haven't tried the chammy cream yet as I still have a couple seasons to use up my Assos tubs.

Just to give you guys an example of the douchebaggery that went on at Rapha since their inception and foray into the US market; The guy (who shall remain anonymous) that headed up their Rapha Continental, and was their main photog and writer was effectively let go because he was totally playing the exclusive cool guy card. I had dealings with him last year during the Continental tour and I've never ever talked to someone so full of themselves in the industry as this guy. Good riddance! Turns out that Rapha being at the top of the heap is going to garner some stupid critisisim from people who've never even tried their products, but it's a good sign that most of the people that are involved with that company are grounded and just want to make top shelf gear and leave lame attitudes by the wayside, how it should be.

I couldn't agree more. I own a jacket, bibs and gloves and they are second-to-none in terms of fit and quality.

The Continental idea did a terrific job in firing the imagination of Rapha's potential North American market....However,as RdV says, the ex-promoter is a conceited knob of the first order (despite anything Brian Palmer writes on twmp). Thank God Rapha USA have employed Jeremy Dunn.

I prefer quality clothing for bike riding, that means many many different manufactures goods hang up in my "riding" wardrobe "S","A","M" etc... But "R"'s 3/4 bibs, black and last years black/orange cross range have been worn to death, both cross riding and road, washed each time used, trashed through brambles and covered in Roubaix chalk rubble sh*te and you know what, they still look and feel the very best peices of clothing and still have years left in them.

As for the Neals Yard stuff, that's very good indeed too.. simple to make up, embolant and your choice of aromatherapy, mix and rub a dub dub..

I have the lightweight jersey and it is by far the best jersey I've worn. Huge pockets, very breathable, long zipper pocket for phone/keys, and the taping along the bottom makes sure it never rides up. One elitist type racer heckled me for a whole group ride about wearing Rapha..whatever..man was I about to strangle his 130lb ***. I'd rather wear that then 80% of the stuff out there. Craft is very nice too btw.
