A mod only needs to be neutral when moderating.

I haven't even looked at the profiles so I won't rate it yet, but I can already say this route is terrible. Completely unbalanced. Yet another mockery of the sport.

Agreed, this poll losest its value as comparison with other GT ratings when biased like this.. Not that I want to give it a high mark but still, one should be able to give it a 7 or a 10 and argue for his reasoning.

A Froome or Quintana GC route... Assuming Sky will still be here, of course.. I understand what hey are trying to do, but I don't see much excitement in it myself ...
Then again, Le Tour lost it's gloss a few years ago, I'll be watching the Giro and Vuelta instead

Seriously 6/10.

Izoard stage is ***, a bit too many sprinter stages, but still great stages AND **** MONT DU CHAT IS BACK AFTER 42 YEARS

A Froome [...] route...
Surely it's only a Froome route inasmuch as he'd still be the top favourite on almost any kind of route? No GT with so few ITT kilometers can be a Froome route in principle.

Quintana need hard mountain stages to get rid of Froome. There are 2. Both finish after a descent and some flat. Izoard may get him some time, but the Pyrenees are total waste for him. Izoard is the only MTF he's got a legit shot at dropping Froome, so he's got 3 chances.

If the Mond du Chat stage is wasted, I'm not watching the rest of the Tour. Remind me to make sure I've got something else going on next summer

Exactly. Another route for Quintana.

Given Contador's poor ITT in la Vuelta it's a decent route for him too. Mont Du Chat and Telegraphe crazy attacks please!

You can have the most awesome individual stages and ruin them with faulty macrodesign (namely, by making sure nobody needs to move by having very few ITT km, and putting the longer ITT stage after the mountains).

I like the idea of one big mountain stage per week. Three MTF is usually the norm on the Tour, but the set-up to La Planche des Belles Filles is a disappointment to me.

There's probably too many sprinter-friendly stages.

seems like it's really boring without long time-trials (hilly or not). nonetheless given state of affairs among top contenders, putting lots of timetrialing in could be a disaster for the race as well.

without seeing all the profiles i can only say that it looks like a 5 route, and that is being generous hoping the profiles for the other stages make up for what we can see.

A very strange course I think. Like a hotch-potch of sub standard days bolted together.

Scored it a four which is my lowest ever.
