How good was this stage? Obviously 1000x better than the whole tour combined, don't say much though...

Overrated stage or really legendary?

I think it also depends on what happens later in the tour. If this is the beginning of way more...:D

I give it an 8. It would have been legendary if froome was alone pulling the peloton and if Sagan tried to do an attack with cav at the end, gets then pulled back and Mollema wins the sprint.

9 for me would be a 10 or maybe a "Vino" if it was for the overall win.
The Belkin hate is just bizarre, they were trying too make something happen before piti's breakdown(mechanically and mentally)
Big boy racing and all 3 teams involved all gained,go figure.

I give it a 9, the fact that it was expected to be just a boring sprint stage yet turned out like it did makes it great.

Great stage. for me, it had the feel of a cobbled classic (with the crosswinds providing the selection instead of cobbles) with the drama of GC thrown in. Awesome stuff

For Belkin a podium spot would be a huge achievement. Who can blame them?
I agree, it's the logic of the race - even if a shorter distance between number one and the rest would be exciting.

Michael Rogers said in his interview that they went for it because they had nothing to lose. I doubt Belkin sees it that way.

they certainly don't. If someone before the start predicted a Belkin to take a podium spot he would have been called some unpleasant names  Now they have two serious candidates and the one opponent with the best team has been blown away. Complete win.

Belkin blew it. They could have put in 2 min minimum if belkins had put some real good work.

What? It was thanks to Belkin that the stage turned out like it did.

They haven't taken anything, and most likely they won't.
