Saison is almost finished of a nice cycling year.
Kung, Lampaert, Soler and many others had their full breakthrough this year.

Who will be the next ones?

Bernal? Sivakov? Lambrecht? Cras?..........

Gaudu and Bernal are the obvious revelations for next season. The feud of their fanboys will also be revealed as the dominant fanboy feud on CN, now that Contador has retired so people have to find something new after Froome vs. Contador.

I think Sam Oomen could do very well next year. He was 13th in the GC of his first GT when he had to abandon due to illness and later he was 11th in his Lombardia. Good all round GC rider who has also got the engine to do well in difficult one day races.

I don't know if it would be a revelation, but Miguel Ángel López to compete ftw in the Giro if he can stay without serious injury until then.

Finally, Valverde will be revealed as a divine emissary appointed by the gods to dominate cycling forever. Spain will have to ritually sacrifice Catalunya to the gods in order for them to grant Valverde immortality and he will truly become El Imbatido, being beaten by neither old age nor injury, winning each and every cycling race under the sun for all eternity.

Nibali.

Antonio Nibali.

He will come to the Tour for other reasons other than the Vuelta, where he showed up in case a Nibali had to be kicked out of the race. He will come to France to destroy the British army and give the older brother a mano á mano shot at the Lord of Darkness

I think that a revelation should be someone not really expected like Teuns this year, if you look at him last year was nowhere and i think no one would expect such run of wins from him in the summer.
Riders like Bernal or Gaudu we know that they could become great riders and they already have hype around them so i think they won't be revelations if they win something even important.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Teuns yet.
There has been 3 post yet, lol.

Søren Kragh could do very well, even in the biggest classics. Carapaz could also do very well in the more mountainous races. Mads Pedersen could begin to play with the big goys in semi classics, I think he is that good already.

Yeah Kragh is a good one actually. He was pretty impressive in Gent-Wevelgem and Paris-Tours and in general he looked pretty strong throughout the year. I can see him having a bit of a breakthrough season next year with consistent good results in flatter classics.

The problem with this kind of threads is that 80% of the people mention riders who were revelations of the previous year, expecting that they would continue to gain momentum in the following year.

On the other hand, it's hard to predict who will actually exceed expectations because these riders are not expected to perform that well in the first place. :surprised:

Kennaugh will finally live up to his talent.
Kämna to do be a factor in shorter stage races and ride an impressive gt, probably as a domestique.
Carboni to do well in the Italian one day races.
Dani Martinez could also finally take it to the next level.
Ganna will hopefully also have a good season after a rather bad first season.

Yeah, I think he could break out in major fashion next year. Hope he will get a free role and not slave for Matthews. Races like Omloop, E3, GW and Flanders should suit him perfectly but the way he was climbing at the end of the Vuelta I’d like to see him go for tougher races like Strade Bianche, Amstel and Liege as well.
