Riders we can believe in?

As a fairly new clinician this maybe a thread that has been done in the past but.......

Who, if any, are the current riders we can truly believe in? Those in the Bassons, Mottet mould.

I'd like to suggest Gilbert and Geriant Thomas. Am I deluded? Who would be in the 100% clean list?

you are mega deluded.

Thomas and Gilbert, not clean dude.

So what is going on? Surely they are not up to the old methods.

Something new on the block?

To be fair I was clutching at straws and was just posing the question. As a brit I liked Thomas until he did a "funny" interview with Armstrong on his website.

Gilbert takes such a verhemently anti doping stance ......... but yeah I know ...... so does Armstrong !!!!!!

OK so is there anyone we can look to as the future?

LOL, Lance never took an anti-doping stance, he took an anti-talking about doping stance or putting his head in the sand stance.

How so?
What are you basing your statement on for Thomas?

Don't you know the rules by now? If a rider has a jaw line he is doped the eyeballs!
If he said hello once to a rider in an elevator who later failed a drug test than he must be charged! It's past association you see.
If he had the audacity to ride well or even (gasp!) win then he has to be juiced! Hell if you do not like the "cut of his jib" then gather the villagers with the burning torches and lets form a mob, to hell with the fact we have absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Since when did that anything to do with it? FFS.

Hasn't Geo. Hincapies admissions (After all, he is Mr. Good guy, isn't he?) made this all silly speculation? We just have to wait tll they get caught red handed, then watch due process evolve. We're "spectators" from start to finish, so why spoil the fun by worrying about being able to trust men you don't even know? Fretting about who's clean and who is dirty, is a futile waste of time. Enjoy the spectacle of each race, or just go riding, yourself. :)

Just testing ;)

Why is that? You thought GH was clean all those years?

The voice of reason! You must feel pretty lonely on here at times?
If only more had your outlook.

What does Hincapie have to do with anything you said.

Everyone is speculating. Who is clean? Who is dirty?

It is truly impossible to say.

I may be cynical but I'd say close to 100%.

Agreed but in the past we've had Bassons, Delion, Mottet. Riders we can be pretty confident didn't dope.

Today?

Is the answer really noone?

In fairness to him, his GH remark is off the mark but it is just all speculation. He sees the sport as entertainment, nothing else. The stuff at the movie theater is make believe as well.

At some point maybe the sport will be clean, but will we know that? Will the first clean winner be believed? The cynicism doesn't offer much of a likelihood of that.

David Moncoutié
Pierrick Fedrigo

I think I'm ok with Damiano Cunego 2007 onwards, but before then the Little Prince has all but admitted to it.
Xavier Tondó went to the police when offered products earlier in the year, which is hopeful, but then he also rode for LA-MSS in 2008 which is less so.
Linus Gerdemann 2009-11 perhaps? He volunteered to be chaperoned at all times in last year's Tour, and he certainly isn't the same rider that wore the yellow jersey at the Tour and won the Deutschlandtour anymore.

The riders that are clean are the ones we rarely hear of or rarely make the top ten, maybe win the odd race here and there
....Epo insures that.
