Thought I might post this link from argyllflyer on the Japan Cup thread to it's own thread as some who haven't seen it might find it interesting. Probably a bit boring to watch it all but the last 10mins gets pretty interesting when McEwan starts to move up through the field in the Japan Cup criterium from October 20th.
From approx 40min onwards which must be the last lap you can see McEwan drop off the wheel of the Saxo rider and hook onto Beppu from Greenedge. Not sure if McEwan was riding in the OGE colours, possibly not as he is retired. McEwan loses him on the final corner but catches him again in the final run in to the sprint. Great footage when he yells to Beppu to go for it and Beppu powers home. It feels like McEwan was doing a teaching role as I think he would have taken Beppu if it was a lead out.
For the record they finished 2nd - Beppu and 3rd - McEwan. Not bad for an old retired bloke
Saw this elsewhere: Bikecam from Robbie McEwen in the crit, 45 mins worth!
