source: wielerflits.

his contract has been disolved since june after savio broke the terms of rujano's contract.

rujano finished 9th in vuelta venezuela, which finished a week ago, while his young teammate pedro gutierrez won

rujano is a changed man as I already saw in 2009 and you saw in 2011 giro. of course you can never be sure but rujano sure as hell isn;t riding for money anymore

that's not true: I recently heard an interview of Savio, and he only sayd that Rujano will go to Venezuela for reason related to his contract: nothing broken so.

rujano and his manager already said in the press in june rujano is without contract. because savio broke it. perhaps they have solved their problems but I don't know

then savio is talking nonsense. rujano and his manager already said in the press in june rujano is without contract. because savio broke it

savio really shot himself in the foot here. his only chance to win the giro is gone

can't be that is the manager of rujano that is talking nonsense?

and can't be that is Rujano that is trowing away his only chance to win a giro?

he already left androni in june. thanks to (in this case) idiot savio

where did he say that?

How would stay with Androni?
I have a pre-contract with them, but always except that if a better offer comes in economic and in sports this would be zero. With Gianni Savio have the best relationships, gave me a great opportunity but this is a business and as such must take advantage, as well as I think about my future and secure the future of my family

can't see him at sky at all and i don't want him there.

Lo primero que nos soltó "Cara de niño" y de manera de primicia es que está a punto de concretar la firma con un equipo Continental de Europa y con el cual estaría participando este mismo año en la Vuelta a España, evento que siempre lo ha tenido presente.

my bet is he will race for andalucia in vuelta but keep the contract with androni.

anyway to see a strong rujano in vuelta this year as in giro,i think he will be untouchable,he will put big time on everyone on the mountains

rujano's manager alemans is indeed full of **** and an idiot. but savio and rujano got in a fight over vuelta venezuela and since then they are looking for another team I heard and read back in june

rujano can win the giro in any strong team that is build around him, especially without contador

me too i've heard good things from savio and even that he send to uci his pre-contract.he has a contract free of any responsabilites let's say.if he finds some team which offers him more money, savio will let him go

All I can say is I hope he rides the Vuelta for someone and repeats his Giro form. Could have some great duels in the mountains with Anton.

Rujano's contract wasn't broken. If he doesn't sign for anyone else he will go back to Androni next year. The links are in the Transfers thread; jens_attacks posted one of them above.

I think the confusion has arisen because he has a strange contract, wherein he rides for Androni for the first five months of the year and then goes back to ride for Zulia in South America. That's why he was allowed to ride the Vuelta a Venezuela whilst the other Androni Venezuelans had to go back to Italy for the Brixia tour.

Savio had a falling out with the Venezuelan federation because he had committed Androni to ride the Vuelta, but then pulled out when Brixia Tour was back on (it had previously been cancelled). He then resigned as Venezuelan national selector.

Wait, Savio had a job with Venezuelan federation?

That's kinda awsome and weird at the same time.
Yes, although after he resigned they said something along the lines of "Well, he didn't really do anything anyway". I think he basically just directed the team at the Worlds each year. Before that he had the same position in Colombia, where he also commentates on the TDF for radio.

This was in the transfer thread already, and thats where weilerflits got their info from, i put the links on their site.

but anyway, its probably worth a thread, now the tour is over there are room for more interesting ones.

The other team hes rumoured to is Garmin.

to join sky they would need to release someone from their contract early as they have the full 30. Expecting about 8 riders released from sky this year, dont know if any will be let go early, not sure how it all works

garmin? movistar wanted him last year really badly and offered a lot of money but rujano choose for savio and better structure to him. but the guy is very ambitious he wants to ride the tour next year and knows that with androni that's impossible

Would be fun to see him ride. He could animate the mountain stages and possibly go for a top ten.

I would love to see Rujano at the Vuelta. Then again Anton, Rujano, Purito.
Menchov only needs one 45km time trial to deal with this. The 2 Italians could prove a tougher challenge.

Still, Rujanos worth is that he attacks, which baits others to go with him which helps break riders, create groups etc.

Tour could be awesome for Rujano. The Giro showed that the "rujano likes the steepest gradients" theory was wrong. Rujano excelled at Etna and Grossglockner. He was good on Finnestre but nowhere near his Etna form judging by the fact that Kiriyenka who had been in a break all day put time into him on it.

By contrast Zoncolan and Gardeccia were his undoing.

So those Tour climbs where the black colour code represents 8% + rather than 13%+ could be good for him. i suspect KOM could be his limit. They ride up those climbs together at a higher pace. Rujano would attack get caught then get dropped. Hed also lose minutes on one or two other stages and god help him if that route back into france goes through Arenberg.

If I were riding for Sky and I got let go early to fit in Rujano, to say I wouldn't be happy would be an understatement. Maybe Sky could work as he would guys like Zandio, Flecha (since he was born in Argentina), Urán, and Henao next year to help him feel at home (I haven't checked the transfers thread yet). But I think he will go to Movistar, he'll be more at home there.

Hi Ryo... Welcome Back, so much has been happening since you went away... Just in case you hadn't heard... Cadel Evans won the Tour de France ;) Frickin unbelievable hey?

I thought you'd be interested to know since your last post before Cadel triumphed on the Champs-Élysées was this rather unflattering description of the current Tour de France Champion -

evans showed class yesterday but, hey he will always be evans, the chickenhearted coward

Maybe you were taken out of context? FWIW most commentators agreed that that was the stage (Alpe d'Huez) where he did enough to allow himself to win the whole dang shootin' match. Haven't heard too many people calling him a chickenhearted coward since? Opinions hey.. they're like arseholes... everyones got one.

Sorry to be so OT... Couldn't resist :p

Anyway.. back on topic... Rujano? Reminds me of Evans in a way? (Reverse the climbing and TT skills of course). Made some interesting career choices in regards to teams? Capable of losing time.. just when you don't expect it? Big motor. Maybe it can be his year at the Vuelta?

I hope Rujano rides the Vuelta. I don't really care which team although Sky seems rather unlikely and having to sack a rider to fit him in is not the best thing to do.

Fantastic natural talent whose career has been (and is still being) destroyed by complete mismanagement.

I dont know who is his agent, Ryo said once he changed the agent after Unibet/Quickstep/Caisse fiasco, but this is too reminiscent of that period once again.

I think his career would profit immensely if he moved to Europe and signed with one (any) agent that has a lot of riders under contract.

Would Rujano be personally happy with that, thats another story.
