Ruta del Sol (Vuelta a Andalucia) 17/2 - 21/2

The first profiled spanish race of the season is upon us. "Route of the sun" is always a good race, and it seems like it is super open this year, but with Valverde, Mollema, Kreuziger and Majka as the main favourites. Likely the winner will be found on stages 4 and 5, where we will see a TT and a MTF on Alto Penas Blancas. Valverde usually does good in this one, winning in both 2012, 2013, 2014. European racing is upon us guys. What's not to like?!

Valverde, poels and van Garderen are my podium picks. Should be a good race, seems like a pretty even split of big riders between this and algarve
And yet the Algarve thread has 7 pages already while Andalucia has 7 posts. I wonder why.

I also think it's between Bala, Poels and TvG with Majka also beeing up there.

Take Contador out of Algarve and put him in the Ruta del Sol, and then you will see 7 pages here, and 7 posts in the Algarve thread...

the Volta Algarve owners asked Contador to race there, so their thread on cyclingnewsforum would get more hits, posts, and pages. he already helped the Ruta del Sol race thread last year when he raced that.

The Algarve thread was created 1 week ago while this one was created 5 hours ago.

I know that. And put Froome with Contador in Algarve and you suddenly have 5 more pages in that thread. It's the hype. I don't have a problem with it. It's just an interesting/funny observation.

I sure agree with you! Often, the best racing in one-week races is seen between the riders just below the best. Even though I have been a big Alberto Contador fan for 6 years, I still enjoy some of the spring races that he is not in, more than the ones he is in. Sadly though, the races doesn't get the same attention on here..
