There are a number of interesting points too. This helmet should be more effective in reducing concussion damage than Styro ones, In Motorcycle helmets the debate between Snell and CPSC (The Euro Standard) was Snell kept upping the hardness of their shells and the acceleration numbers were very high. The philosophy was harder shells improve helmet performance.
In Europe the outer shells were more compliant but less protective of penetrating injuries, a point Snell used to bolster their helmet standard. The thing is Snell helmets were doing little in the area of concussion or maybe were actually doing much worse.
This is just an overview of the 2 approaches but note that Snell has been moving toward the Euro design in that they are reducing the acceleration numbers.
There is another application for paper helmets and that is for rental outlets as disposables. Ironic if they were more effective than the keep it for 5 years helmets we use.
