Shimano road gear cable set

I've just bought one of these, and it contains four nylon ferrules, and one metal one - where does the metal one go?

Usually in one of the cable stop fittings on the frame just before a run of bare cable (where these are on your frame will depend on whether you have internal or external cable routing)
