BigMac said:Both ITT and stage 3 are in same day? (3a and 3b). Great climbs to the finish, but could use some intermedeate mountains IMO. Nice ride overall.
Rajna31 said:Yes they're on the same day. But the TT is short and 3b isn't that tough (Jina is a long climb but it's not steep at all).
CCC Polsat might dominate, they'll have Rutkiewicz, Marycz, Morajk and of course Rebellin. Androni will field a weaker team (Bertazzo will be their GC guy), the others are not Pro Conti. But we have Christina Watches with Schumacher. Last year's winner De La Parte and runner-up Kvasina will probably challenge as well.
Utensilnord will send the Hungarian lineup, they're going to be a little tired after a busy Tour of Romania. Hopefully Kenyeres can continue his impressive progression, reportedly Kusztor will be the guy for the GC.
Stages will be aired on DigiSport Romania, so we'll probably have a stream somewhere.
roundabout said:I thought Rutkiewicz was taking a, uh, "break". Or was it all just a big misunderstanding?

So race starts @ 11:00 (CEST) and is scheduled to finish around 14:30.
If there is a stream available this might be a welcome distraction from the mid race snoozefest in France.
Rajna31 said:Yesterday was dominated by CCC Polsat, they set a very high pace all day so the peloton was quite thin by the time they got to the final climb. Then Honkisz and Rebellin launched a double attack with Honkisz driving as long as he could and only Wilmann and Kvasina were able to hang on with them. Our guy Kusztor paced himself well and despite losing much ground early on the climb, he limited his losses and finished 11th.
Today CCC Polsat controlled things again, the breakaway was difficult to form. De La Parte launched an attack from the foot of the final climb, but CCC Polsat reeled him back easily. Richt after De La Parte was back in the bunch, Eibegger and Parrinello went for a more successful attack, Rebellin had to go solo to catch Parrinello but Eibegger was out of his reach. Kusztor managed to stay tih the GC guys all the way and only Rebellin and Kvasina could beat him, he finished 5th, climbing up to 8th place overall.
Wilmann is reported to be a mediocre TT guy so we hope that Kusztor can catch him and maybe somebody else too. CCC Polsat is uberstrong for this field so 3b is likely going to be well under control.
