Something's Beginning to Stink

Orica Greenedge, Simon Gerrans and now DARYL IMPEY IN YELLOW ! somethings beginning to stink in this TDF just like last year.

Didn't someone predict a British, African, Australian sudden rise of success to attract more revenue for cycling ?? SKY did it for the British and now we have the Aussies TTT win and Gerrans stage win, and now the FIRST AFRICAN to wear the Yellow Jersey !

Something stinks !

I'll start getting suspicious if they stick on the climbs. Personally I don't think neither Simon nor Daryl are using anything at the moment.

You do realise Impey is in yellow completely by a fluke and that he hasn't actually done anything at all in the race so far?

Err, you're aware there was a TTT, right? I mean, you can be suspicious of the TTT or whatever, but Gerrans and Impey in yellow are the direct consequence of the TTT. They don't add anything to the suspicion.

OGE were one of the strong favourites before the TTT. Impey gets in yellow partly because of this but also because he rode sensibly to stay up front and not lose the 5 seconds that others did. The only surprise was Gerrans beating Sagan in the sprint but as you can see Sagan was still the faster of the two but coming from further back. Taking it away from Sagan altogether, Gerrans would be one of the main names you would earmark for a potential win on that route. I don't see how it stinks.

I,m not insinuating doping - I,m saying that an Aussie win and now an African in Yellow smacks of a Phat publicity campaign for Africa and Australia.

It's as if Cadel Evans never existed.

When was the last time we had Australians winning stages of the TDF ? an Aussie TTT win and now an African in Yellow - my god and you lot were the first to state that the anglo Brit SKY train was all a set-up.

This is perfect to attract the Aussie viewers / money ! and the African publicity / Phat Pat money train has been on the imminent horizon for some time. Its well kown he has his fingers in the African pot -

and next we're having Froome and Porte on the TDF podium in 2 weeks !!

You may have a point actually, Sagan beaten in a sprint by Gerrans? It's pretty obvious he was paid off to lose that stage.

I dont buy it. All Impey has done is being part of the best TTT train (which may be suspicious obviously) and place top 10 in the sprints. Hardly earth shattering.

If you put their success in perspective as compared to the tempo of the group and the make up of the course to this point there is nothing that stands out as fraud so far.

I doubt their power numbers are substantially out of the ordinary.

If they are off the front in the mountains then its worth a look.

I heard that a winner from Antarctica would bring gazillions into the cycling, from new sponsors like Penguin Bank and Seal Investment

I,m not saying they,re gona take the mountains - the objective has been accomplished - Australian and African revenue will be SKY high !

Froome tweeting that hurrah we have a Saffa in Yellow - yeh and you,re not a saffa hey Chris !!

Gerrans beat Froome on San Luca in 2009.

The stage at the Giro when the Dawg zig zagged.

You'd fully expect Gerrans to beat him

I don't understand what your trying to say is going on here?  I don't see anything weird at all about Gerrans and Impey both wearing yellow.

You kinda sound like a conspiracy theorist.
