Specialised S-Works 6

I've completely fallen in love with this shoe, but its obviously very pricey. I like all the colours equally since our kit is red and my bike is black/white, so all the colours match very well with the colour scheme which I find pretty important (extra 5 watts).

So, I've found the red one on a pretty big discount. But before throwing so many money after new shoes, I'd just like to know if anyone have any experiences with them. They look sooooo good.

If they fit well + you like them... Being the latest model it's nice that you can find them on sale as most online stores simply won't go below 280€ (~15€ cheaper than that Danish site - would end up being more expensive unless they offer free shipping, though).

Again, just make sure you're a narrow/normal fit. Doubt wide will feel good. Having tried a pair I think you could get equally good shoes for less, especially with the massive discounts going on in stores such as Sigma and Merlin. Bont's Vaypor+ (best shoes I've ever tried) were going for like 100€ cheaper.

I do think the S-Works shoes are the better looking ones, though, and it's important that we like our gear. To answer your question, I think they're the kind of shoes you learn to appreciate the longer your ride takes. They're very comfy. No idea long term.

Edit: If you could wait for EuroBike and the launch of the 2017 model they'd probably drop price much more.

That model is simply the one I think looks the best and I have admired numerous riders riding with them. I think there is no way back at this point for me... but as you said, you can't really find them much cheaper than that, so that's that.

Maybe I'll just ride the season out in the old shoes and look for some discount over the winter, but damn, I'd love to have them in my hands by now. When do they launch the new edition?

What are your current shoes? I find Giro and Specialized shoes to be fairly wide and struggle to get them to fit.

Really? These didn't seem like wide to me at all. :surprised:

That said, they seemed slimmer compared to the 2015 edition which I would consider wide.

Yep, I have some cheaper Shimano's I got a while back that are now relegated to turbo riding and I have to wear really thick socks if I want them to fit right. Tried others as there's a Specialized Concept Store in my home town but they just didn't work. My Giros are SPD shoes, Privateers, which I where on my fixed wheel in case things get too steep and they only really fit when I wear sealskins or double sock.

My Sidis (5-fit) are a much nicer fit with just a single pair of socks.


On a plus for the Specialized though, the inner sole on my cheap ones is fantastic and is now in the Sidis that come with a cardboard one. I understand why they do that but I was glad I knew when I went to try them on.

I like Specialized Shoes.They just feel right for me.I have Specialized Comp MTB and Specialized Road Sport and they're just so comfortable.I bought the Road Sport to replace a pair of Fizik R3s which were far to narrow for me.
Would I pay £280 for the S-works 6?Mmm the R3s were £280 but I got them heavily discounted at £59.99 but had they been a better fit would not have hesitated in paying full price so i guess the answer is yes.....if I thought they were worth the price

Hi,

Has anyone switched from Sidi shoes to the new Specialized that can give a shoe size comparison?

My 4 year old Sidi shoes are 44.5 and usual shoe size (Nike) is 10.5 U.S.

What size Specialized would you suggest ordering?
