First stage has just been won by Kittel

2. Renshaw
3. Cavendish

Cool!

By the way, very interesting that this race can attract a quality sprinters field while Suisse and the Dauphine cannot. What about switching the Tour de Suisse and the Eneco tour in the future?

Sounds like Cav has lost all pace after losing those 4kg, time to write off his tour chances if he can't beat Renshaw.

We have no idea what occured in the sprint, so it would be just foolhardy to come up with such suppositions..

I think it has to do with Dauphine/Suisse not having many pure sprinter stages. Also, those doing the Giro and the Tour might want to prefer to keep racing light in June.

Might as well not send him to the Tour now. He is obviously not good enough.

More luck for Wiggans

Sounds about right, if Sky want to send a sprinter they should send Swifty as he now looks superior to Cav (2nd in a world tour beats 3rd in a 2.1).

Agreed, 2nd behind Sagan certainly sounds more promising than 3rd behind Renshaw ;)

well guys did anyone actually see the sprint? :) we don't know how it happened

anyway i said it since last year, greipel and kittel will beat cav right in le tour sprints, especially kittel.let's just wait if it will happen.
cav's loss of weight is worring though,i think he might go for the win at the worlds or why not,le tour overall? :D

Going to be a tough choice between Swift and Cav for the Olympics now, I guess they can send Cav to Poland and hope for some wins to get his confidence back.

Will sprints finally become interesting again with new rivals for Cavendish like Kittel, Sagan and Greipel? I think so.

Although I think Sagan will win every single stage in the Tour except the time trial and mountain stages. ;)

when both on top form, cav beats greipel 14 out of 15 times. the same applies to kittel.

Weight loss obviously out of desperation to make le tour team and help Wiggins in the mountains, after all we’ve been told of his great domestique work lately :D

Have you ever seen cav and kittel head to head sufficient times???
Greipel is alway badly positioned.

greipel put some more muscle mass so he upped his game it seems to me

about kittel on top form, that didn't happen yet.when it will, cav won't pass him.

gotta say too the sprints in le tour will be finally interesting.too bad those last just 30 seconds

I am not surprised that Olympics are much more important to Cavendish than the Tour.

I am surprised about the weight loss, maybe the Box Hill is slightly harder than it looks. ;)
Langeveld and Bos rode the Olympics course... Langeveld came back happy, and Bos was disappointed, I think Box Hill might have something to do with that ;)

The idea of course is that between the Giro and Tour sprinters don't want to do another long race with a lot of climbing in it. Ster ZLM is perfect for finetuning their trains.
