The guy won Paris Roubaix you MORONS.

Is that not worth mentioning more?????

My support for some sort of a breakaway forum has just gone way way up
In this case, TDU is probably more relevant since he's lining up to take part in that race right now.

No, Id say someone having won a monument, been the first from their country to do so, and the queen of the monuments at that, is always worth mentioning.

If Contador was lining up at Catalunya do you think CN would write " The 1 time Volta a Catalunya winner", and leave out everything about the Tour?

Don't prejudge

A complaint has been made, the police are investigating. That's how it's supposed to work.

Sorting out what happened in alleged assaults is bread and butter stuff for cops (and magistrates, if it ends up going to court), and, for all their failings, I'd trust them to investigate this kind of incident professionally So just simmer down and wait to see if anything comes of it.

You'll be happy to see he's been credited with PR in the later article (where he denies the allegations).

And looks like a driver trying to make a few extra dollars selling nonsense to tabloid TV. No doubt Ch 7 (the main competitor to TdU coverage holder Ch 9) was down in Adelaide looking for tabloid fodder. These two channels constantly try to undermine whatever the other is doing. Come Olympics there will be lots of "Olympics are cr@p" stories by Ch 7 because they didn't win the coverage)

Frankly, I'd be too embarrassed to report to the police that I'd been assaulted by a Pro Cyclist. They're hardly big guys....

If my mind serves me right, 'oul Stuey was assulted along with other Aussie pro Baden Cooke in France during a 'necklace snatching' incident some years back...???

Ya think?

It's understood the man making the allegations approached a tabloid current affairs program prior to approaching police.

Clearly a thoroughly researched article. Passive voice, always an easy day at the typewriter.

Im more concerned that in another article, Stuey rates Olympics above PR.

Noooooo!!!

When you grow up in the track programme Olympic Gold is all you think about for a decade and as a boyhood dream. By the time he became a classics semi-stud (saving full stud status for multiple monument winners) he was more mature, and had already ticked a number of boxes in his cycling career, so whilst he no doubt is very proud of his rock on the mantle piece, he hadn't spent more than 10 yrs plus focused on trying to achieve it.

Actually its more than likely this. Small argument which left driver bitter combined with tabloid **** (I will never watch TT or ACA) looking to **** on a competitor and wham bam you have a story you can wedge between the "brickie from hell" and "12 ways to make your skin green" segments.

he and Stuey went the knuckle with Monaco bourgeoisie :D

they did not fight v v.
That is, Freckle v CJ.

Stuey and his freckles are the elder statesmen who are looked upped to unpeer'ed in the Oz clique. More so than Mcewen. And Evans is a laffing stock in the clique. Respected wrt legs no doubt. But not one of the boys.

Google the phrase "CJ S..", S.O, Monaco, fight, "end of season".

Was about 2007 end of season, think before SO crossed to Cofidis. Or Ericsson Sony :D

These are the only three "disturbances" I know of. :D O'Grady has a case of pms quite often eh? Own walking riding talking taking version of Ultimight Rider.

More pms than Jeannie Longo innit?
