Synapse BB/Crankset question

I have a 2011 Canondale Synapse carbon (Apex)
Rode LA to NY last summer. Great ride!!

However, one gripe.
It came with a BB30 compatible shell, but the Apex didn't come with a BB30.
So, Cannondale put an BB30 adapter in, then the standard Apex BB - making a double BB - without the BB30 benefits
(OK, two gripes - it also came with 172.5 arms - I've always ridden 170's)

Would it be worth the trouble to get an aftermarket BB and crankset - one that is specifically BB30 (as well as 170's)?

Interested in your replies.
Thanks
Harold

Are either of those items causing you any actual functional problems?

Besides a small change in the crank arm length, what type of improvement would you like to get?

Swapping parts can become a headache if the mechanical interfaces are a little off. It seems that you would be removing a completely fine BB and crank assembly with different parts that 'are supposed to work' on your frame. What do you think is the likelihood of the change being trouble free?

Hmm.
Good points.
I had to bring the bike into the shop three times to get the BB to stop squeaking. But it's quiet now. Are you saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

at least
"don't break it by trying to do an unneeded 'improvement' ".

It's not uncommon to hear from people with various types of BB problems, I wouldn't go looking for trouble...

There was a problem with those frames. Had a customer who had brought in his bike with creaking problem after having been to two other shops. I couldn't fix it either so Cannondale replaced frame no questions asked.
