Remco could still win but he has to mark and follow either Roglic or Pog. Both of them could drop him on the steep slopes and then the descent if Remco manages to hold onto their wheel. If Remco attacks first, he'll be followed and allowed to do most of the work. Although, Pog might be Pog and share the work.

If all riders are on top form, Remco comes off third best.

Rogla will not be a factor in this race, 270km way to much for him, he will target TT

Every time Roglic was in a race where a teammate had a higher chance of winning he has worked for that teammate.

TT race is before RR. Roglič will go all in for TT and probably finish around 5th place. He'll go to RR tired and in a semi free role. He won't work for Pog like a domestique because he'll keep some powder dry if race comes his way (he earned that) and he'll fade towards the end of it anyway.

Maybe they will use him as a decoy attack to tire out the competition before final mega watt bomb by Pog. Team can't wait for the sprint. They need to go crazy much before that and release Pog in long range attack.

No reference to cheating and who would have won what if everybody played it fair.
And everybody knows sir Eddy was cheated in Italy, he cried real tears for sake;
Eddy was a statistic anomaly and Teddy will probably be one to. Both of them more then Jordan and James wil ever be. Rather put them in the Bradman, Taylor, Nicklaus category.
If Teddy keeps it up. Look how deep the tiger has sunk. Is he still a GOAT? For sure not the GOAT in golf?
Yes, of course that someone cheating couldn't be relevant in evaluating the greatest of their sport. Don't know what world it's not relevevant but you can construct that comparison as you go along, I guess.

Golf isn't a sport; it's an activity like pool, darts or bowling. Rhythmic gymnastics is more sport...

A TT can be a great wakeup for the RR. I doubt it would tire him to any extent.
You can't overestimate the difference of a national team absent of paid, pro leadout trains and domestiques although most UAE guys should still consider who pays them. It'll take the good Slovenians to work out how test the competition but it will get down to either Primoz or Tadej to make a move at the right time and would be great if they are both in it.

On Angliru Rogla was setting a high pace to protect his leader from attacks by his rivals (Vingo in particular). Due to fog and radio malfunction Rogla didn't realize what had happened. He heard heavy breath of his leader but at the finish it turned out it wasn't his beloved Sepp but evil Skeletor. Pretty traumatic for the Slovenian.

So Maradona can never be a GOAT because of his handball? Or Messi because of his numerous dives?
If Pog ever gets his 0.00000001 moment because of he a bad steak, he is put in the bin and never talked about?
Armstrong was a cheat at a moment when everybody else was cheating in rather the same way.
I can totally agree that people consider him a cheat and count him out.
I don't;

My opinion is similar. Do people know why LA was stripped from his 7 Tour's titles but still no one won those Tours? I will not say more because this is stuff to be talked in the clinic.

Roglic has never done well in a long race before? Pretty sure he has. If he targets the ITT, he still has a week to recover.
He did really well in Liege once (and he was lucky in that sprint). Of course he has some pedigree in monuments/WC but it is obvious he can't sustain his insane power for 250 km. He is was more vulnerable when classics exceed the 220 km mark.

I recall Wout being by far the strongest rider at Tokyo 2020 RR and everyone marking him and letting him chase and fade alone.
The usual scenario for Pog capitalising on his supremacy only possible if the team controls the race until last 25 km. Pretty insane to expect that.
So he will have to launch from really afar.

But can he sustain it? Only if big teams are worn out (but for that the pace needs too be really high) or there's a competitive escape group from the bigs in front by then and he manages to cross and then sting again.

Remco's position in that race is similar without Wout, so they are kind a natural allies.
