It's just that if beating MVDP by 16s is slaughtering him, I don't know what superlative you'll be using for his Strade Bianche performance.
MVP was destroyed on Kwaremont. It looked like Indurain dropping his rivals in the high mountains. Pogacar didn't get out of the saddle one single time and you can see how much more power he was generating compared to MVP

Not getting out of the saddle? How many people do you see ride out of the saddle on hilly cobbles? That has nothing to do with his sheer power, that has to do with you needing to put weight on your back wheel because otherwise you'll slip. You don't have the same amount of grip on cobbles as you do on asphalt.

You're right but it has everything to do with sheer power. MVP was in Pog's wheel and you can see how he was suffering there

When did Induráin ever drop his rivals in the high mountains?
Very surprised you don’t know? Yes, 1994 Hautacam stage Indurain rode off the front from everyone including Marco Pantani and his big rival Tony Rominger. It doesn’t get any more emphatic than that.

Another example was 1993 TdF stage 10 to Serre Chevalier - riders like Bugno and Chiappucci were destroyed by minutes on the Galibier. Only Rominger and Colombian pure climber Alvaro Mejia hung with Indurain.

It was actually amusing back then reading or hearing all these claims it was impossible for Indurain to beat little climbers in the big mountains. Then Big Mig made fools of them all with his sheer power.

No one can ever question Indurain's ability to climb. His ability to maintain a huge tempo during minutes and minutes is unmatched. A total freak

The explanation for that is it wasn't remotely flat.
As excellente as Remco is and all be it the closest to Pogacar he is no where near and nor is anyone else in the history of the sports so its not saying anything against Remco in a bad way....Sometimes for some of the poeple on this forum watching as much cycling as they do their pretty clueless.

Pogacar is in a league completely alone

I am too young to have watched it live and have never gotten around to watching videos of those Tours as I've been told how boring they were because he never won a mountain stage during his reign and always won the Tours through emphatic TTs.

And still I wouldn't really expect to get a Kwaremont feeling from watching it...

The way Big Mig crushed elite climbers on La Plagne ascent was epic. He was so big that those lightweight mountain goats (Pantani included) were almost completely hidden behind his back and still he dropped them all uphill!
