I wouldn’t say they were boring. That was when I got hooked on the sport. I was actually wishing someone would beat Indurain - like Rominger. But when Indurain was dethroned on the road to Pamplona in 1996 I was quite sad.

Slovenia just need to maintain Pogacar safe and ready to rip the peloton within 50 km to the finish line
He will drop everyone. Peloton will be reduced to 20 riders and he will kill them all and win with a 48 km solo. This is my prediction

You are overestimating the difficulty of the race and the quality of the Slovenian team to drop all those riders
Pogi does not need a team - he'll go a couple of times and then be on his own. Roglic will just be a rolling roadblock together with the other Slovenians.

Lol, Slovenia not making the race hard 150km out from finish would play in the cards of every other rider. Did you miss how he won LBL or even more recently Montreal?
Not to hard, remember Van Aert being destroyed by Evenepoel? You don’t want to come into a situation where Hirschi and Evenepoel get an advantage on a flatter part and all teammates have been spent.

If they don't make it too hard, like UAE did at LBL then you can expect to finish together with MVDP.
Also besides Roglic no one from Slovenia should come in a promising position because they should work for Pogacar.
Pog will go when he wants to go.....everyone else can try to anticipate but he'll be gone.
This is a 273 km race. Pogacar will attack after 5:30 hours on the bike, this WC will be brutal, more than Glasgow
MVDP weighs much less, check his face, it's like Evenepoel at Dauphine and at TDF difference. He also doesn't have a long peak from WC CX -> Roubaix behind his belt now, he's fresher.
Obviously he won't be able to follow when Pogacar goes, but I don't see Pogacar ride away that easily from everyone and finish solo. So if he's joined by others, and the tempo is gone, MVDP is one of the first ones to come back. He was 3rd at LBL for a reason, and he's in better form and physique now.
The race might have 4500 altitude meters, but the route isn't as difficult as people assume at the moment.
I might be wrong, but I seem to remember him winning Amstel...

What if Pogacar loses because the team wasn't commited around him since the start of the race?
I heard something about roglic being more popular and loved in slovenia than Pogacar.
Yes, you did... I'm not slovenian and I know Roglic is no longer Slovenia's favourite. Maybe he was 3 years ago, not now.
