This makes no sense. Jonas beat him in 2022 with a gap. Both of them improved their numbers and he beat him again in 2023 with a bigger gap. In the spring 2024 he showed strong improvement compared to 2023 and then crashed heavily in Spain. Without this he might have had the same improvement as Pogacar and beaten him - even Landa or Jorgenson had higher improvements than Jonas this year.
No one has taken this on probably because there is a lot to unpack. To make it simple, 2024 pogi is very different than any version of him previously. The main reason is he changed coaches. And the word is that brought us a preview of this year before it happened, is that Pogi will continue to improve into next year and is likely unstoppable on pure present ability terms until 2030 at the earliest.

The main reason is surely that at 26 he is at or near his physical peak. And seemingly the dissappointments of the last couple of tours made him take on this year with an extreme singlemindedness. If hes not challenged, I imagine he could be able to keep that for a year or two at most at some point complacency, boredom, other priorities in life are likely to kick in. No one keeps this going forever, and its always surprising how quick things change in sports.

Yeah, Vingegaard was the trigger point to this mutant season.

Yes he already was the best cyclist in the world by a huge margin then this and his new coach and this we see now is just out of this world how good he has become.. Its hard to descripe if you havent ridden in a pro peloton just how much better you gotte be to stay away for 100km as the main fav in a field like that. Its honestly shocking.
+1. When i see other in a breakaway even its barely feaseable with people even nevermind alone so def judging by that hella hard. And the WC vs all the best yeah nuts.

Thats your opinion, mine is different. Nobody will stop the goat for couple more years. We are watching the goat at peak of powers.

Goes without saying thats a pipe dream it couldnt be more obvious after this year, not that it ever was anything else than hopeful thinking like some wanted to believe which everyone said imo. He is just in a different league always has been and it takes a x factor thing to him to beat him for everyone. Nevermind now, now he is in a different stratosphere than everyone else.

Yes, it's wishful thinking to believe he can be beaten, after all he won the TDF 5 times in a row now :)
