Vingegaard still managed to increase his level between 2023 to 2024 despite his crash just 3 months before the TdF.
So I´m wondering what level can Vingegaard reach if he manages to increase his level again from 2024 to 2025 + isn´t injured.

In my opinion he is still no match for a peak Pogi, but, if he can be within 3 minutes of Pogi by the last mountain stage this is still dangerous, luck, tactical mistakes can always play a part...

Giro will also go to slovenia another trigger, its all just speculation ofcourse. And Pogacar love riding in italy above all places not hard to fathom if people knew how italians look at him, ive never seen anything like it in any races ive been to since Pantani but he was italian. They just love him in a godly fashion, he is already twice as popular as anyone everywhere but in italy its something almost like hes a god. Strade and two stages in the Giro ive never seen anything like it only the pirate he also had that godly aura there but at least it made a little sense since he was italian. Remarkable experience.

If he goes to the Giro again or Strade i recomend going at the course at some stages for an extrordinary experience.

Vindegaard's rushed recovery no doubt included prescribed drugs that would need to be cleared to be legal to race. That also could lead to some more permanent impacts that now will take even longer to overcome.
Johann Museeuw was a monster on his return to PR after almost no racing...as were his two accompanying teammates. He won that in 2002 and many, counting this poster were wondering how that happened. He didn't have significant results after and retired in '04.

I saw this funny guy say this among many others on twitter. Of course pure speculation and fun at this point nothing else, from experience the team have most likely not put pen to paper on that already.

POG 2025
Strade Bianche
SanRemo
Flanders
18 days altitude Sierra Nevada
LBL
Giro
21 days in Isola 2000
Tour
Quebec-Montreal
Rwanda
Emilia-Lombardy
Good lord that’s a heavy lift to run the giro again

IMO Vingo is the only rider who can threaten Pogacar's domination next year. He's a GT monster, no doubts.

I started following cycling in 2003, so only know about these things from reading up, but it seems to me that your memory is playing with you.

When Museeuw won in 2002 he had close to 40 race days that season before Roubaix, doesn’t sound like “return to PR with almost no racing” to me. He was second in RvV and third in E3 leading up to Roubaix, so it can’t have been a surprise to see him win that Roubaix… It was also not the triple Mapei.

In 2000 was the triple Mapei. Here he also had close to 30 race days leading up to Roubaix and won for example Omloop and Brabantsje Pijl.

What you are right about is the lack of (a lot of) significant results after Roubaix in 2002. Hamburg Classics 2002 and Omloop 2003 were the only one day races he won after, and he finished his career shortly after being 5th in Roubaix 2004.

Thanks for the correction. That Mapei triple did nothing to dispel rumors about their program, though.

Someone here said Pogacar was very popular in Italy. After checking latest articles on La Gazetta site it really seems to be the case. A lot of articles about him. He's called an artist and compared to Coppi in one of them. He also took part in a TV event.

Ive heard talks from serious people that he wanne try all grand tours one year just to try. I believe like others he can do it if this is his new level noone is basically close. Doubt it will happen in a season i suspect he gonne value WC also why I could see that suggestion above as plausible and Vuelta another year.

No way, he is gonna do Flanders when he is racing the Giro.

I think Tour + WC will be his main focus next year. It could be extended to Tour + Vuelta + WC if he feels well after the Tour but it could jeopardize his WC campaign (the WC course is too good not to target it). As for the monuments MSR, Liege and Lombardy are certain. He may add Flandres but not PR.

I'd be surprised if he did not ride Flanders next year, assuming he is not going back to the Giro.

Doubt he will try Roubaix next year but who knows - he likes to mix up his race programme and targetting different races helps keep up motivation when you win relentlessly

He will ride Flanders. My wet dream would be something like:
- He gets 2 kilos of muscle in the off season
- Racing program: SB; MSR; E3 Harelbeke; RVV; PR.
Rest (No LBL).
- Starting to prepare the Tour-Vuelta (when Amstel starts)
- Dauphiné
- Tour/Vuelta
-WC
- ECC
- Lombardia

Threaten? For gods sake🤧 if we had doubts about what mou said about the strength training he started this year pog himself said it on peter attia's podcast
1, off the bike strength training only in 2024
2, core strength training only in 2024
3, proper heat training only in 2024
And on top of that he started to take care of his nutrition this year. Jonas vingegaard has been doing all this since 2019 thanks to vismas super professionalism and his improvements as a result were massive. Now if i just follow logic, the difference in level between them would be like leagues in the next 5 years

Don't be silly. Vingegaard is the only worthy opponent of Pogacar.
