People are saying he will only race the Tour because his racing program is very heavy and doing 2 GTs in a row is very tough to your body. You must be fresh and prepare wisely this feat (Tour-Vuelta) in order to not have a burnout.
I still think that he will go for Vuelta.
It’s one of the few most important races he didn’t win already. This year seems perfect to win. Jonas, Primoz and Remco repordetly go for Giro so there is no one who can beat him in any circumstances (excluding crash of course). He shouldn’t miss that opportunity.

I’m also courious what he’ll do if he’ll win MSR. Then there will be only one monument to win for him… which is Paris - Roubaix. Will he go for it?

It has been said by our guiding phropet @mou that the team will wait to see how hard the tour is on him before deciding on the vuelta. They really want a strong crack at the WC ITT and RR + Lombardia and will sacrifice the vuelta for it.
That is also something what only really does make sense. This year WC RR and IT are just too good for Tadej to take any risk and racing Vuelta before such a great oportunity is not the best idea. I am just happy he himself said WC Rwanda and TdF are his main goal this year. I still hope he goes to Giro and waits with Vuelta this year.

He doesnt have to decide that yet, but I think it is likely he skips Vuelta if everything goes to plan in the Tour. I only really see him doing it if has to exit the Tour early for various reasons that could happen.

Especially likely he skips it if also races Suisse or Daphine, before the Tour, which I think he will do. I could also understand why he may want to do Slovenia instead, but I would rather he tries to win Suisse or Dauphine.

No, he won't. He can't gain 2 kilos in 3 weeks and he need to be heavier to drop everyone in PR

Gonne be more emotional damage for someone this coming year. Buckle up while more history unfolds and continue to be written right infront of our eyes.

I’m waiting for that to happen, maybe except Tour.
On Tour I want the first clash between Pog and Jonas without any advantages for one of this two.
2021 - Jonas crashed
2022 - Jumbo Visma tactical masterpiece and better team
2023 - Pog wrist
2024 - Jonas crash on Itzulia and UAE dream team

I put my hands on fire if MVP is able to compete with Pogacar in AGR.
If van der Poel is in peak shape for the race and rides tactically intelligent (means don´t take any turns, when he rides with Pogacar, at least until the last hill..), I can see him staying with Pogacar. Unlike Liege-Bastogne Liege, climbs are still easy enough for van der Poel.

Main issue in my eyes is that he peaks always more for the coblle classics a few weeks earlier, but I remember really good performances from van der Poel in non cobble races with a profile like this one. His won here 2019 and the WC in Glasgow 2023 for example..
