I don't think Pog would've let himself dangle. You could see how quickly Laporte closed the gap Pog wasn't going full gas.

Jumbo needed to put Van Aert in a spot where Pog and MvdP had to work but Van Hooydonck in a break wasn't it. Let's say you have Laporte instead of Van Hooydonck and Van Aert legit doesn't have to ride with Pog and MvdP, making it pretty unlikely he gets dropped until Kwaremont by Pog if at all.

No, but that is irrelevant to the point I made.

It's not about absolute athletic ability. It's about how much they predictably dominate, how much they "ruin" the races for the viewers. That was the complaint about Jumbo here, but they are not the dominant force some make them out to be.

Fair enough.

It's a weird situation with the 3 main Ronde favorites skipping most of the Belgian classics. I guess DDV, Omloop and KBK being the ones that had none of Van Aert, Pog, and MvdP are the ones where the other teams simply should have done better as well.

Has QS ever really realistically 'ruined' the classics? I have never felt that before honestly, but then again I can't really remember Flanders 08-09, but Im pretty sure I would have fumed at Devolder winning twice in a row.

Last year was even worse in that regard, as Pogi and MvdP only raced Dwars, not E3. So we didn't have a single Flemish classic with Van Aert against either of them.

Cross season and Pogacar not really targetting the races outside of Flanders is a ***.

Although to be fair, him just racing E-3 is fine for me, thats about what we can expect given everything. Im much more disappointed in the Vans since I couldnt give a rats arse about cross and would rather watch them in Kuurne than at cross worlds.

The worrying thing is Van Aert saying the situation was good for the team just before Pogacar took off on 2nd Kwaremont. It only confirms Jumbo had very different assumptions about how the race should unfold and they got it very wrong.

Benoot was a completely nonshow. Laporte did what was expected, we knew he was nowhere near those three and it would be a matter of time before getting dropped. They needed those two in the group, not Nathan. If that was the case the situation is suddenly really good, especially since Wout needed to basically just sit on Mathieu and Pogacar to have a chance today and that could have been an important alibi.

Van Hoydonck in that group is close ot useless. They needed Van Baarle today to mark that move

Esra Tromp and Jumbo have parted ways.
Usual meaningless statements.
Looks like a football manager style lack of results sacking. From my very limited knowledge she seemed ok at her job.
In mitigation Vos has been out most of the season so far and SDWorx are doing a Jumbo mens team domination.
