I had him in my draft team but when I went through it in the end I cut him because my mistake in previous editions have often been to have too many over the hill riders on decline so I opted against him in favor of younger up and coming riders.

Total letdown in Kuurne. I had 4 of my 5 riders in the front 19 riders during the race but when the peloton caught group 3 I don't think I got much at all from those riders in the end.
Yeah him turning into a 1 day beast is a scenario I didn’t envisage and makes me regret not picking him even more now as he looks a top tier favourite for the Ardennes as well now.Great weekend for the Ayuso teams. (Not so great for mine
Good points for Wout both days and a solid 7th for Lamperti today but can already see that my strategy for next year needs to change as I am too point heavy on sprinters with insufficient classics capability and also lack GC guys for a lot of the early stage races.
He has always been a really good in one day races on the rare occasions UAE let him ride some. I don't think what he did this week-end was anything new for him. With that said, I'm not sure he'll get a huge haul in the Ardennes. I'd expect him to play more of a support role for Pogacar there.
Solid week.
Poole, Bernal, Ayuso and Lamperti the ones who scored the most. Tarling looks good at this stage of the season as well.
Promising rides from Busatto and Mihkels. Interesting to follow how they develop.
Minor points from the rest.
Probably a few teams that might have scored more points but a steady stream of points is coming in so far every week. Hope it can continue.
Turner and Wright might be busts. Two uninspired picks. Should have gone for others. Regretting those picks.
Steady week. Ayuso was the stand-out. Uijtdebroeks and Bernal with decent scores. Foss dropped away on final stage but still scored ok. Opening weekend wasn't great, Girmay, Turner and Wright did little to nothing.
Milan's record in classics is appalling, I don't know what you were counting on. 3 full years as a pro and only one one-day race finished inside top30. When I realised this, I no longer considered him for any game.
Pogacar is only doing Liège though, where he and Evenepoel could easily put the rest of the field out of contention on Redoute already. So I think he should be able to score quite a bit in the Ardennes.
Every chance that Pogacar only rides LBL so he should get at least a free role in the other races.
Fretin picks up bits. Van Wilder and L Marinez give me hope that I didn't feck up on my more expensive picks. Tarling, Bernal encouraging enough. Better than last week, but still not firing on all cylinders. Only 6 of my riders haven't scored though, so I am ok with that.

I'm afraid there are 49 teams ahead of you on that metric, and only 30 behind.
If Matthews Walls can crack the top 20 tomorrow in Le Samyn, Salvarani will be.
That probably reflects my current ranking tbh.
But it's february. And I'm enjoying following riders that I would otherwise have pretty much ignored. It's one of the reasons that I tend to be some way down the popularity table .... I might not win, or trouble the leaders even, but I do have fun.

I have worked out the value of each team as at the end of 2022 (bear in mind, teams will have had an end of 2023 value of near to, but not more than, 7500)
Teams at the top of this table will have set their store in youth, those at the other end will have banked on riders returning to a previous level. I always set far too much store by my spreadsheet comparisons of the year just finished to previous scores when selecting, and every year tell myself not to do that. But I am not (quite) the most guilty, it would appear.

Yes, but removed from SB.
I am not surprised he is doing well in one-day races, he had shown that talent before and won plenty... but one could only had wished for this start this season. Andalucia aside, given what happened, very good schedule to score points so far.
It sure is a rare thing for me to see my name near the top of a table.
Is this the beginning of a similar debate like with Lecerf going to Rwanda perhaps. It almost seems like Ayuso could be avoiding the races with the tough opponents to beat up on lesser opposition in Faun and Laigueglia.
I guess we'll see if the pattern continues or not.
Maybe they think Trofeo Laigueglia works better with T-A for him.
SB will likely be a much harder race and he already did races back-to-back this weekend.
He will get more recovery before T-A with this schedule and he wont be playing second-fiddle to Pog.

Ayuso did Faun classics to compensate for Andalucia's cancelling, not to avoid competition. And TL works better for recovery purposes prior to TA and maybe also solves leadership headache at SB as well.
Am not worried yet about Turner. With no Ganna, Sheffield or Pidcock riding the cobbles, he's the de facto team leader (unless Tarling monsters them). Hoping he's just riding himself into form for Roubaix after a relatively light early season schedule.
That is fascinating and telling. It's probably why I have never troubled the podium, but I have a good history of picking riders like Pogacar and De Lie just as they go stratospheric (sadly, I didn't stick with Pog, when I should have).
