The Binda Jersey - an unoffical WC

What if the world champion in cycling was decided the same way as in boxing?
Every time the current WC raced, the winner of that race would be the new world champion. I found this a fun project and decided to try to find out who would be the reigning champion.

In theory you could start for the first bikerace in history and trace the line, but there a quite a lot of obstacles on the way. Which races to count, missing results list, doped riders is perhaps the biggest challenges.

So for now I started at the first WT race this season: Tour Down Under.

22 riders have had the jersey this season.
The current wearer is Alejandro Valverde after San Sebastian.

The name Binda Jersey is after the first rider to wear the Rainbow jersey, Alfredo Binda who won the 1927 World Championship
