Graeme Brown will drop everyone on the steep slopes of the Anglirú to solo to the GC win in the 2017 Vuelta.

Interesting... Chicken, who, as far as I know, won't be riding the Tour, is more likely to win than guys who will!

December 2010
Abdoujaparov announces an unprecedented comeback with his new, self-managed team in a two-year sponsorship deal with a carmaker (some of the carmaker's principal dealerships are owned by Evgeni Berzin).

April 2011
After being seen eating massive platefuls of knish in Oudenaarde, wins Gent-Wevelgem despite struggling on the Kemmelberg, then follows up with a disheartening series of DNFs. The press writes him off as 'Tashkent Toothless'.

May 2011
Misses Giro in favour of a training base in the quiet town of Altitude, Switzerland where Abdou stays at the home of an old doctor friend.

June 2011
Wins Uzbek National Championship against stiff competition from the peloton and the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic.

July 2011
Now resplendent in blue, green and white with mauve piping, Abdou storms back to a mountain-top victory in the Tour.

Crashes out on the Champs-Elysées due to the rest of the peloton being erratic and not following a straight line.

September 2011
Not selected for the Worlds in Geelong due to visa problems. Retires peacefully and starts a cheese business in West Flanders with Andrei Tchmil.

Dennis Menchov manages to complete the TDF without falling of.
This is the crazy predictions thread, not the bat**** loco foaming-at-the-mouth predictions thread.

Rubén Plaza to win the Tour de France, and Pat McQuaid and Christian Prudhomme call it 'a triumph for clean cycling'. Cadel Evans comes second, and gets headbutted by David Moncoutié for no apparent reason.

Fresh from a disappointing failure, Team Radioshack announce Greg Lemond as a new member of their coaching staff.

Amets Txurruka wins Paris-Roubaix by soloing in from 90km out.

Jonathan Vaughters goes into partnership with Manolo Saíz.

Liberty Seguros finally actually leave cycling at the fourth time of asking.

The UCI grants the Volta a Portugal elite status on account of its stellar record of building up cycling at the grass roots level, and all of the Portuguese teams sign up to the biological passport.

and slide further

-Robert Gesink wins the 2012 Tour de France by 22 seconds over Alberto Contador by narrowly defending a 1:30 lead in the final TT after crushing the field on the 16th stage to Alpe d'Huez.

-Lars Boom does the Flanders-Roubaix double in 2013 after Fabian Cancellara is disqualified from both races (after initially winning them) when a motor is found in his bike frame. He finishes the season by winning the TT World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain.

-Michel Kreder wins the rainbow jersey in 2014 by going on an audicious 50km from the finish with Peter Sagan and Romain Sicard in tow. Kreder powers away from both on the final hill and despite a late surge from the Slovak just takes the World Title.

sigh..... I could go on forever with this.
