You do realise that the the kind of body that seems "fat" within the world of cycling is actually... just pretty average?
Some of us would like to be even just average :(

But I do think the reality of triathlon even at elite level is it's all about the running, everyone is very "average" at the other elements. So I can kind of understand from a cycling pov the ridicule, even if most of us "cyclists" couldn't run 5km let alone at his pace

Yeah, I do them myself. They aren't the best bike handlers. But if you just swam 1.5km your reactions and bike handling would be a lot worse aswell.
You're on a bike and muscles that aren't ususally tired are hurting, you've just done a huge effort and now your body is switching from one intensive workout to another.
I do have better handling than most of my competitors since I did some low level CX-races and some U18/U21 races as a kid. But yeah, most of them don't have the skill of a pro cyclist, but they would still trump most amateurs. Just don't forget that they're in the middle of some huge intensive performances
Even without the swim part most triathletes on a bike are really well down the list on their bike handling skills part.

Which has always surprised me because it's just a skill you learn from practice, though I suspect they'd always prefer to go for a run than a ride or swim.

Dunno what is going on at Ineos, but AG2R getting an English speaking DS seems like an indicator that they're moving away from being a French speaking team only.

He might speak French perfectly well too we do get taught some foreign languages in Blighty 😀 my school claim to fame is I got better marks in French & German than English, some people would say that shows too 😂

Yes, but he also speaks English, giving riders who prefer that that option - at least in one-to-one communication.
Of course, I think most of the riders for next year do speak a little bit of French.

But Luke Rowe is part of the furniture at Ineos... so even if he parle un petit peu Français, it's quite surprising to see this move.

I was hoping this when i first heard it when now that Wielerflits also brought it and they also say it's Danny I fear it's actually him. Its pretty simple Lotto is on fumes, they are completely broke. They can't even keep relatively cheap riders like Currie or Paasschens lmao and have to replace them with pay to ride riders.
Paaschens now somehow ends up at Bahrain instead, so he may not be as cheap as you'd think

He is (Bahrain also like cheap domestiques), didn't even get an offer from Lotto, no money.

They probably don't sell Jayco painted LIV bikes over there. Although it is a transfer, I'm not sure this information belongs in this thread.
It’s about the race of tomorrow. Don’t know where else it can be posted. Saw some videos on social media they are riding their actual TT bike in training today.

Edit: Oh wait didn’t saw the titel. Just the same OP avatar. If someone can change it to the woman race page.

Weird how Lotto had a desastrous 2022 season. Came back and made up for that in 2023. Taking a lot of good decisions. Building a squad around De Lie. Some nice results and placements with Kron & Sepulveda along the way. Another talent with Van Gils on board. Only to completely collapse in 2024 apparently.
Some teams always seem to be in sponsorship purgatory.
Lotto is probably going to sink a bit more before they somehow pull off a sponsorship like Soudal once again.
