Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl signs Jan Hirt, Tim Merlier and Casper Pedersen
The arrival of the ever improving Merlier will help fill the hole left by the exiting Mark Cavendish, and Anthony Turgis extends with Team TotalEnergies.

Let’s see how Merlier does at Quickstep.

Let’s see how Merlier does at Quickstep.

It was confirmed 10 days ago.
Here's some other news and rumours you might have missed, too :p

Nice, I just saw that the article was made yesterday and didn’t see anything the last day

I have that dial up Internet apparently :tearsofjoy:

And the last one can’t be a rumor if it’s true ;)

I also heard that Guimard and Hinault may have reached a breaking point. The latter could leave Renault.

I think there was already some rumours about it, but Reinders to BikeExchange has been confirmed.
No, BikeExchange hasn't posted anything about it - AFAIK - but Riwal has.
The change will be in effect after Danmark Rundt, which he'll ride.

Here's a bit more info:

And now BEX has confirmed it as well. A solid rider in .2 races, who now gets the chance to earn some more money working for others.

M. Vacek was finally confirmed by Trek

No idea how this is possible (as he did a full season as a pro already), but he'll join the team as a stagiare on from now

UCI promised to find solutions for gazprom riders and Trek wanted to sign him for this season, but they decided to not make an exemption for the max riders rule (31 this season). The compromise was to let him ride as a stagiaire (also against the rules for former PCT riders)
For the same reason Malucelli to Quickstep didn't happen.
Such a joke, when Sky/Ineos signed Dunbar after AB folded they rightfully made an exception. They are a pretty useless federation...

Apparently UAE want to sign Fortunato, no idea what he'd add to the team, maybe a climbing superdom for the Giro team?
Albanese has offers from both UAE and Trek. With Pogi skipping the cobbled classics that could actually make sense for him. He would be a protected rider alongside Trentin in the spring classics and UAE gain a rider who can help on that kind of terrain in the Tour.

Wouldn't Fortunato be a quite handy contender for the Italian fall classics as well? Ulissi isn't getting any younger and UAE still acts like a Italian team on the Italian circuit.

Fortunato is also under contract with Eolo for 2024. He had a lot of offers after his Zoncolan victory but decided to sign another two-year deal instead. So he seems to be happy where he is - or at least still was last year.

Imo they already have a replacement for Ulissi, Covi can probably fill that role in the coming years (and is a better bike handler). If it's actually a long one day race that is raced hard from far away Formolo is also superior to Ulissi. Not to mention all the non-Italian riders for hilly classics that they have on that team.
