I hate these people:

And these clowns as well. Unfortunately they are ubiquitous in my area:

Quoting someone from here, to a triathlete, a bicycle is a very expensive (and very ugly, I might add) pair of shoes.

Also they typically have the road manners of a turd sandwich. I think I would rather ride with someone who soiled their bibshorts and smell like a paper mill than your average tri-dork.

What is the deal with the hate towards triathletes?

never had a Tri guy on the aero bar pushing the big ring at like 60 rpm on your wheel twitching the front end?

You need to let him past and wheel-suck..... they make great motor-pacing when the moto is not available:)
Then when the hills come jump hard for 200m, ease off and let him back on the front, repeat, repeat and repeat...... eventually tri-geek will get the message:)

My brother once asked why do runners, cyclists and swimmers all hate tri-geeks?? anyone have an answer beyond the obvious

I've ridden with a few on club rides, they of vary from being OK and genuinely decent but perhaps misguided in taking up such a sport to the completly intolerable idiot with the top of the range gear and just ****ing everybody off by showing off.

It kind of goes over my head in the end.. not worth getting worked up over.

People that post their last training stats on Facebook or bore you in person with their power or heart rate or meters climbed stats. Shut up and ride!

I wonder how many people using that apparat got seriously hurt in accidents, the tube and all that other hash wounded around their neck.

This company is in my hometown. These things are everywhere. I really hope I can see a large dog freak out at someone piltoting these monstrosities.

funny you should pick out one of the better cyclists in triathlon. he could destroy most pro cyclists in a time trial.
(yeah he still looks funny tho)

Two things that I hate:

a) People who surge in races but only go 20m up the road and then ease up and force everybody to waste energy for a pointless effort. Learn to roll over on the front properly or surge properly and make it an attack, none of this half assed stuff that people do.

b) MTB riders, some of them are really quick when it comes to going uphill but have no idea when it comes to riding in a group.

Looks like a latter day velocipede. Also called a laufmaschine or dandy horse, it was the predecessor to the bicycle.

As for hates, I hate overly aggressive, rude people, whether on bikes or in cars. I hate it when smartasses make idiotic cracks from the comfort of their cars - though it's fun when they then get stuck in traffic or at a light - which they usually do - and I can catch up to them. The look on their faces: priceless :D.

Trolling slowtwitch tonight only reinforces my disposition to tri-dorks. They literally believe that if an engineer says something about a bike, it has to be true; they just assume they have "data." And this "data" supplants any type of user experience, including their own. I mean, I can only assume they would replace their saddle with a "bedroom toy" if a Cal Poly grad in a Cervelo polo told them it's going save 45 seconds on their 40km time.
