The lost art of the snot rocket

why is it that some dudes choose to blow a snot rocket when they pass you? There are rules right? Although I see no rule written by keepers of the cog.

It's usually new guy new bike new kit trying front fit.

It is necessary but time that stuff bro. for f sake.

Back in the day, when the only information one had in a race was your competitions reactions to pain, it was considered a sign that dude was mouth breathing and spent anaerobic. so I was told by an old vet way back when. " if he starts blowing his nose you go....."

Yea there's a rule, its only in the back of the pack or out away from anyone else no exceptions, unless you snot yourself in those dire times of full on congestion and you need to breath and its a matter of breath or fall over due to lack of oxygen, expect some over spray. Those terry cloth gloves exist for a reason though when you got a case of the wet dog nose.

It could be worse. He could have whizzed on you.

Yea, anytime you see any liquid coming out of a cyclist its best to move away and avoid it, better safe than sorry. Same applies to cars, trucks, buses, etc.

Once when I was riding solo, unknown to me a guy came up behind me and was sitting on my wheel. Just about the time he decides to go around, I let loose, caught him full on. He wasn't happy but 1) he didn't announce himself - I had no idea he was there and 2) if he was paying attention he would have seen it coming and taken evasive action.

None the less, I always felt kind of bad about it. Now, I always look behind me, even when I'm alone before I let loose.

I got a team mate once when I was suffering bronchitis. I got him in the glasses and yes I wiped his glasses on my shorts but he put them in his pocket
I suffered that humiliation for years and I am very careful to look since.
Following riders in the rain it is always get in the car time when they need to pee.
