Zverev found a way to stretch out his match to over three hours, but he lines up a 4th round matchup against Lucky Loser Jesper de Jong.
 
That was probably Djoko's last best chance to win one more big one........this open is waiting to crown an implausible winner.

It seems very much like he's not up to it physically anymore. He's barely played this season outside of the Slams, and his Australian Open run had him avoiding a lot of hours on court by a walkover and a retirement before he managed to beat Sinner.

The super high level is still here, but only in very short bursts before he runs out of gas.
 
Incredibly long matches all over the tournament. Today, four of the so far six finished men's matches ended in a fifth set tie break. Yesterday, Ruud and Fonseca got back from two sets to love and won 7-5 in the fifth.

Cobolli is the only player who had an easy match today. He could be a good pick to reach the final from that half.

If Zverev wins, then Ruud being the finalist to lose to him would be extremely on brand for Ruud. Somehow when a record gets broken it's always Ruud on the other side.

It's also impossible for this to happen.

It's also not really on-brand for Zverev to rise to the opportunity.

He kinda stopped choking at Slams vs anyone and their moms, sadly. I miss those days.

These days he's somehow genuinely *** outside of Grand Slams.
 
Fonseca and Ruud having quite a battle here, a couple of games at the end of the second set took more than 20mins... some great rallies.
 
Roland Garros organisers know what the tournament is really about: Hosting a lengthy ceremony for PSG‘s Champions League winning team where they present both Champions League trophies of the last two years with Dembéle, Doué, Barcola and Zaire-Emery instead of tennis.
 
Insane match between Arnaldi and Tiafoe, Tiafoe led every set bar the last and went double break up in the fourth, but Arnaldi was much improved every time he was behind and won in an absolutely great to watch final set after 5h26min

Polish qualifier just knocked out Kalinskaya. Probably Sabalenka in the next round to crush the nascent Raducanu comparisons though...

Arnaldi already took a record 17 hours and 40 minutes to get to the quarterfinal and going by the first set he‘s threatening to play another five hours.
 
Well, Arnaldi was prepared to play five hours but Berrettini (who last played RG five years ago because of injuries) couldn‘t get through it seems
 
The new Polish Raducanu now a set up against Shnaider, ahead in a tight second set at 5-4, serving. Bizarre FO on the womens' side.
