Interview with Klaas Lodewyck for HLN. When talking about the WC, not an ideal preparation due to him getting sick, still has to lose some weight, but will weigh more than at the TDF. Evenepoel will go to altitude for less than 2 weeks after Tour of Britain.

Remco probably goes below his natural weight for his big GC goal every year. Which works for a couple of weeks. But isn't sustainable for the whole year.

Don't mean he won't be competitive during the rest of the year. Just that his ultimate peak is only sustainable for a couple of weeks each year.

You think there is one pro cyclist that doesn't go below his natural weight for any sort of goal that involves climbing? Is there even any cyclist, that has lost weight after retirement, including sprinters even?

Definitely agree on this one!The gras is probably not greener on the other side, except for the money.

Remco is in a team that is 100% dedicated to him and they have surprised me with strong showings and high team morale when he won the Vuelta, before he got covid in 2023 Giro and Also in this years Tour! Landa was a perfect signing. Not only is he one of the worlds strongest climbing domestiques, but he has made Remco more relaxed and calm with his routine.

To have a perfect GT team you need a mix of strong climbers and roleurs, + routine and good road captains. Next seasons Tour team will be very strong: Remco,Landa,Scachmann,Cattaneo,Van Wilder, Hayter,Eenkhorn and Vervaeke. Pairet-Paintre in for Hayter or Vervaeke If he arrives!

Has anyone heard confirmation about Pairet-Paintre for 2025 btw?
How does this analysis seem after the last two stages of the Vuelta? Remco could step in at Bora and learn a few things, too.

Remco seems both on track and not quiet sure if he'll make the required level to truly compete with the best for WC on time. At least that is what i got from his most recent interview. Hopefully he'll get where he needs to be

He was riding unnecessary a lot in front of the group as looked like some sort of intensity training. And been doing 2 hours extra after stages so it’s normal he’s not at his best yet. I’m still optimistic. Some weeks to go.

Everyone that could be considered a rival for ITT gold is in shambles. Not going home with another rainbow would be awful, even in these circumstances of an Olympic year that always results in weird contenders.

But we want to see him win the double, which I doubt he will. He didn’t really gave me a lot of confidence about his form during Tour of Britain.

As a comparison, if he would ride Canada I doubt he would ride for victory, while Pogacar probably will. So there’s quite a gap between them and not much time before WC.
