So this year's race is pretty stacked with talent, with most GC hopefuls for the Giro present, along with some others. Also a TTT to start and an ITT in the end, but it's a short one so it could favor the powerful riders not the ITT specialists.

It appears as though Aquaman is sick. Hopefully he will be ready for the race.

And why the hell have they not picked Schachmann for this race?!?

I was wondering this as well. He looks to be in very good shape and the hilly profile plus TT suits him excellently. If BORA manages a competitive TTT he could have finished Top5. According to PCS he is scheduled for Catalunya (which suits him less) and Itzulia (which suits him well) as preparation for the Ardennes.

Interesting, old school race. Reminds me a lot of the 2011-edition which, for some reason, I remember fondly altho looking at the results again, it didn't look like that good of a race. I applaud them for going in a different direction compared to the many last year so it isn't P_N v.2 in better conditions.

No clue to who will win, but the murito stage do look good. Still not a fan of the opening TTT, would rather see one a stage like the one to Pomerance as the opening one.

It's ridiculous that they keep including two TTs in a seven day stace race.

I think it will be a battle between Roglic and Alaphilippe.

I would add Adam Yates.

Loved last years TA. Too bad Landa is not riding this one. Hopefully Roglic will show his good spring condition again.

If Thomas is riding the Giro he'll be in form, otherwise not probably.

After what I saw in Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana I seriously doubt he can fight for the overall. Roglic will probably win, he is in great shape and the route suits him very well. I would add Alaphilippe to the mix as well although he will probably lose too much in the TTT and maybe in the Recanati stage

A.Yates can go deep in this field - MS will do a good TTT and Yates shouldn't lose much time in a 10km ITT - If he can take time in the punchy finishes.

He was pretty decent in Strade, so I think his form is on the rise. I guess with that TT's he'll be among the favorites

Of course he will challenge this. The route isn't bad for him and the shape is improving.
Sunweb will be close to the top teams (Jumbo, Sky, possibily Bahrain?) in the TTT.

Roglic is the favorite. And since there is no long mountains, Alaphilippe and Wellens are candidates too. Birdsong and Yates could also do well.

Don't think Thomas or Dumoulin are at 100% yet. Thomas doesn't have to peak yet since he is targeting the Tour but there is more pressure on Dumoulin who need to show something before the Giro.

Teams that start later might have an advantage tomorrow because of lower chance of rain.
