Startlist

Start Time: 14:55 (local time)
Finish Time 16:10

Should be many feeds avaliable.

I think Leopard Trek will be favourite for the ttt but there are many other teams such as Sky, BMC, HTC, Garmin and maybe a few others who could feature highly.

As a matter of fact ACF is right for once. Evens, Hincapie and Shar should be good.

Liquigas and Garmin nah, not feeling it.

HTC looks scary.

Movistar looks solid with Kiriyenka, Bruse and others.

Let's see...

BMC: Evans, Hincapie, Van Avermaet, Ballan... but the rest aren't too strong at all.
HTC: Cavendish, Albasini, Eisel, Grabsch, Pinotti, Renshaw, Roulston, Velits... Albasini is probably the worst of an excellent group.
Liquigas: They are just a solid, well drilled team.
OPL: Gilbert, Hansen, Greipel, Sieberg, Lang.
Rabobank: Boom + the rest!
Sky: Solid across the board with EBH the star.
Garmin: Hushovd, Farrar, Millar, Lancaster, Navardauskas... not bad.
Leopard: Cancellara, O'Grady, Bennati, Wegmann and Jooooost.... pity they will have to drag Junior around.

I will say.

T1: HTC
T2: Sky, Garmin, Leopard, Liquigas
T3: OPL, Rabobank, BMC, Movistar, Lampre, Radioshack, Saxo Bank
T4: Acqua & Sapone, AG2R, Euskaltel, Farnese Vini, Katusha, Astana, Quick Step, Vacansoleil

Very familiar with these beach roads.
Pan flat except for the blips, which are just small road bridges.
Will be nice to see the old stomping ground again.

At least half a dozen teams in with a shout.
The usual TTT suspects.

Van Avermaet is one of the worst time trialists there is. Quinziato and Burghardt are a lot better.

A bad ITT'er can still be a good TTT'er... sustained high power efforts, repeated. Ballan isn't exactly a good ITT'er either, but both are capable of driving a TTT. Most sprinter's aren't considered good time trialists, but almost all of them are excellent in a short-medium TTT.

Edit: I see what you mean, I was looking at CyclingFever, they didn't have Burghardt or Quinziato, in which case BMC will be a good chance at top5.

You are right about that, sprinters usually are pretty good TTT'ers, although Van Avermaets problem is more that he can't sit still on his bike, it can't be a joy riding behind that guy in a TTT ;)

Anyway, did anyone post this 'great' promo for the race yet? Who will be the Sea Master?

The only week guy for the ttt is probably Santambrogio in the lineup. Van avermaet actually isn't too bad and the rest are all at least decent in the itt.

1. Leopard
2. HTC
3.Sky
4. Garmin
5. BMC

Well that comment was actually based on some fact and not fanboyism!:D

Tirreno Adriatico Startlist

ttts are only great when theres something at stake. SO Giro and Tour. Preferably not the first stage so that someone is defending the leaders jersey.

THis should be ok, but ive always said htc was the best team out there and this is partly based on their tt awesomeness.

When everyone was hyping garmin in Seville, those of us who appreciate greatness new htc would do it there.

I dont even know what team they have, ill just pick them anyway.

ACF, since this is the first stage, would you mind putting the date in the OP. Is this today, tomorow, when?

Edit: I thought it was Wednesday today so got a bit confused when i didnt see it on the eurosport schedule.

I agree, tho I don't think BMC have a bad TT team, they certainly don't have the TTT squad HTC, Garmin, Sky and co have.

I think Lotto will do good because they have "stolen" some guys from HTC and they are all capable men in a TTT. And Gilbert is a beast.

As for the winner? Liquigas. 10 seconds later: Leopard and HTC.

Gilbert will take 10 minutes in a 1000m attack in one of the stages to come and win the whole thing.
