Felice Gimondi was in the studio at today's stage for RAI Sport (Italian State TV) and talked about Tommy Simpson while they were at the start of what was to be his final and fatal stage.

According to Gimondi the heat was terrible and Simpson had joked it was "caldo da morire", deathly hot and just before the start Simpson wet his cycling beret in water there at Marseille and pretended to bless the group religious style. Looking back Gimondi said it was like he had a premonition.

Omertà is with the accent on the final a in a sort of French style btw.
