Hi All,
first post for me...

What are peoples Top 10 for the prologue in Leige?

Mine are
Cancellara.
Martin.
Phinny.
Cavendish (not sure about this but he often does well)
Wiggins.
Kessakoff,
Sagan,
Durbridge,
Larsson,
Grivko.

and other strong candidates could be
Millar,
Chavanel,
Rasmussen,
Van Garderen
lepheimer (long shot)
De Gendt.

All suggestions welcome.
Cheers,

Alot of sprinters do well in the prologue.

I dont think De Gendt is riding though.

My Money is on Martin

De Gendt has his wedding on the day of the prologue so he is certainly not riding ;)

Anyway the usual... Cancellara, Martin, Wiggins, Sagan, Phinney, Durbridge, would nto count out Evans either

DeGendt, Durbridge, Phinney are not riding. I would go:

Wiggins
T Martin
Cancellara

The rest of the 10 should have Sagan, EBH, Gretsch & Zabriskie if they ride. Millar, Chavanel, LL Sanchez, Evans will be top 20.

Be surprised if Cav is top.20 or even top 5 from Sky. Froome & Rogers should go better.

Sagan loves it.

Not surprising as the course seems quite technical with a number of sharp bends :

Sagan to get his first of 8 stage wins this TdF :D

Sagan said yesterday that 3 stage wins and green jersey would be OK.He aslo made a bet with Liq. team chief ( 2 wins + green j.)....On the other hand he said that he probably will be too tired on Olympics...it looks TdF is priority for him unlike Cav. who prefers Olympics gold above green jersey.

Hopefully - and each stage as usually in different style - e.g. puncure 7km before finish, train stop, almost crashing 100m before finish, etc. Here are the Sagan stages:

stage 1
stage 3
stage 5
stage 8
stage 12
stage 18
stage 20 (20 because of all other sprinters will be at home or tottaly destroyed)

I agree with some of the suggestions... however I don't think that Wiggins (his pursuit days are long gone aren't they?), Martin (too short for him) or Cav(he can't do that well just having lost 4kg) are in this for the win. I think it will be between Cancellara, Sagan, and some lesser known TTers/sprinters that might produce a surprise.

I would not take TDS as definitive evidence that Sagan has surpassed Canc in prologues. The TDS one did have a climb, and Canc's form will have improved by the start of the TDF.

I believe that prologue in Lugano is a bit special for Sagan - he is a great descender, with great bike handling skills, moreover he said that he was realy prepared in Lugano - went the track 5 times before start, checking each one turn. So we will see how he can prepare in Liege and maybe he prepares some other surprise for his fans ... This year is full of surprises from this guy, so he can be quite relaxed as he probably achieved more that anyone expected from him this year.

Cancellara, Martin or wiggins.
No one else.
Outsiders are like sagan, TJVG, cadel, chavanel, millar and there are many more.

Martin or Wiggins don't have the skills to win on this technical course, Sagan and Cancellara do. Chavanel looked great in Dauphiné, so I expect him to do very well on his home turf.

I'm afraid Gesink, Schleck are going to lose a chunk here.

The technical course doesn't suit Gesink. Atleast that's what I think, but I don't think he will lose nearly as much time as Schleck will.

lol if Sagan wins prologue and stage 1. Would he be the first person ever to hold a 100% winning record at Tour stages (more than 1)?

Be even funnier if he wins stage 2 too

If I'm not mistaken Cancellara won the prologue of his first Tour
