Sounds like the bunch spilt in 2, I wonder if any GC guys were left behind the split.

It's a shame Kudus isn't riding. He got a broken collarbone in Turkey; he would've won this one easily otherwise :(

I followed this race a bit last year when Jan Hirt won a mountain stage, seemed like a pretty cool race. Glad to see it was upped to 2.1 and the startlist looks great too

There was still Parra. He had bad luck with a crash just before the final climb of Emali. Parra finished higher than Kudus in L'Avenir btw;)

Thanks, D&C.

If you are interested, Alex Kirsch is writing a diary on his experiences in Azerbaidjan for radsport-news.com (in German). Here is today's entry:

Sounds like the wind was pretty fierce: "The biggest problem was staying on the bike"

lol, yes crosswinds are easily becoming the most "dangerou"s element in pro racing.

Now how to get the stuff on demand.

Thanks for the link. Always good to hear from a young voice of the peloton.

^^ On that race, Dutch rider Lars van der Haar says villages are so full of spectators that the riders have to slow down. Cycling is universal :)

I love the twitter feed :) Good coverage, and every now and then a spelling error that makes you smile :)

Sounded very eventful. Some lets say less clear messages at the business end. Results might reveal a bit more and the highlights tonight could be interesting.

Anyway congrats to Roglic, first pro win.

Nice result :)! Tomorrow should be good 18 year old Power already attacked today on the climb. I expect to see him in the top 5 tomorrow even though he is still so young.

Van Der Haar 7th... for a guy who thinks he has little potential on the road, pretty good to finish ahead of Cobo :p

Strong break today

Currently Zakarin is leading solo he was with Gerdemann but he just punctured.
Chasing group 2-3 minutes down (they were originally with Gerdemann and Zakarin) and peloton about 4-5 minutes down with about 13K to go.
