Tour de France 2014 Start List

Let's cut to the chase and let's start talking about the Tour de France 2014. The wait is making me over anxious so let's have a thread where we can discuss the teams and tactics.

I know there are members in here that have inside information or wider variety of sources than I do. So I'd appreciate if everyone can share the information on who is going to this year's race.

Yeah, I posted a note about this down in the "About the Message Boards" message board. The last couple of days, messages have been cut off on some threads. I suspect (with no real evidence) that it has something to do with copying and pasting from other web pages.

Just use the EDIT option ...

Not even that though. On the Race Design Thread when I tried to edit something it cut off a lot of my edits and deleted a bunch of what I'd written, and that was only linking to other parts of the CN forum (one of my library posts).

I think it doesn't accept letters with dots and `. It cut off my post yesterday when I typed Taaramae with a + ".

Edit: Kangert for Astana should also start in Tour.

I think that's two different issues. But yes, the forum also stopped accepting diacritic orthography a couple of days back. Don't know whether either or both issues are related to when the forums were down for a few hours the other day or not.

I'm still confused Rodriguez is on that list.

So there's a slight chance Majka is going to do the Tour. Or why not Beltran?
If he's riding good in Dauphine, why not give it a shot?

I think the "important riders" are described as such and not as "favorites" or "team leaders" because their inclusion on that list is the result of them being automatically included for having the most points in the system that site uses to rank riders. It doesn't reflect stated goals or known issues like injuries or anything else, I don't believe.

I understand that. But i mean more that i'm still surprised he's (likely) going to compete at the Tour.

They need a good IT person in this site!!

This past week it has been acting up. Maybe preparing for the Tour de France crazyness when Froome and Contador go crazy in the mountains.

Probably,I dont know if it will help, its really crazy up there when Tour is in full swing:D

Sorry I find this somewhat funny....who are the important riders for Trek? Shleck right? Nope!

For important riders they show the two best placed riders on the PCS rankings from each team. The Schlecks are awfully low on these rankings. I know it's funny:) but sad at the same time:(

They are not letting a rookie ride the tour, no way. He never did a GC, and the tour is so much more than just mountains, its crazy first week with chaos and crashes, this time with cobbles as well, put in a Rookie and you have 8 guys instead of 9. He would never make it.
