I love every second of the historical information they give us about France. It's one of the things I missed most about Paul Sherwen. He had a flair for it.

Philipsen is in good form and he's celebrated as many stage wins as Van Aert in this race.
I don't see him winning this though.

Yes. Thats a big draw of the grand tours for me where every second of racing isnt white hot and there so much else to look at.

I am coming to this theory; GC isn't as important for the teams as it used to be; since more riders wants their own chances every team has to spread themselves thinner. So fighting Pog won't be an issue for most of them. They want stages, and other colours, or yellow for a stage etc etc etc. Less team sport, more individual.
