15 sprint/breakaway stages, 2 ITT, 3 GC deciding stages in the Alps and a jaunt around the Arc d'Triomphe - two aliens plus Roglic (don't forget him going all in again) plus Remco. The punters will be breaking down the doors to see that!

Maybe Claudio will make a comeback and show them how it's done. They'd finish them in one hour less
Here's what it'll be... https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48510756?privacy_code=XJS5DkOjBAyFpnGCM4hKOZg0SfFIUyeQIt's possible to make a good stage to Peyragudes isn't it? https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48510623?privacy_code=TJRMASm3PdHtmJU36YPVGbsF4VVhktqT
Of course it starts way west of where the actual will start, but...
60 minutes faster than 1983 I have absolutely 0 doubts about.
1992 I'm not sure. I guess not because if there is one thing they don't do extremely fast it's long mid stage climbs.
There are rumours of a stage to Monte Dore (massif central) on july 14th.No massif central or vosges in the first week?
The route will be awfull and backloaded again.
Port de Balès + SuperbagnèresSo practically an unipuerto to Superbagneres and a time trial... That's the Pyrenees...
It's still pretty bleak.Port de Balès + Superbagnères
Best outcome left at this point. There are rumours of a stage to Monte Dore (massif central) on july 14th.
Medium mountain stage right? I don't know if monte dore is that hard. There are rumours of a stage to Monte Dore (massif central) on july 14th.
I read it on velowire of the possible return of La plagne.
I hope is not true. Superbagneres and La plagne are the type of mountain finishes ASO should avoid because they're not steep climbs.
I hope Finestre will be at the Tour, and i would like very much if Granon returns.
If the Pyrenees will be super light, it could means, Mont ventoux on sunday.
Yeah, medium mountain at best. Mont Dore is 3-4 km @ 7%, it can be preceded by Croix Morand and/or Croix Saint-Robert, both something of 8-9 km @ 5-6%.Medium mountain stage right? I don't know if monte dore is that hard.
How about puy de dome? They could do it again.
Personally, i don't like those type of climbs, because the draft has been playing a major role, even more in the last years, with the improvement of the bikes.not all MTFs need to be steep
very long grinding climbs have their place

Well, Ventoux MTF looks to be back. Pog and Jonas about to destroy another climbing time. Hopefully they do double Ventoux again with the MTF.
I would like a long grinding climb as a MTF only if there is a long and steep penultimate climb that summits with like 50 km to go or something. That way, it incentivizes long range attacks.not all MTFs need to be steep

Finally, a reasonable guy. As long as we have mountains in the Tour, Remco cannot win against Vingegaard or Pogacar. They can try and make it Remco friendly, but he ain't getting anywhere near the two aliens, especially if Vingegaard's back to full fitness.
So as an example of what that could plausibly look like:There are rumours of a stage to Monte Dore (massif central) on july 14th.
How do you know that? Do you know how each rider will evolve in the next years? Finally, a reasonable guy. As long as we have mountains in the Tour, Remco cannot win against Vingegaard or Pogacar.
I like Remco and love his style of racing. But he was over 3 minutes down on Jonas Vingegaard this year despite JV having next to no preparation or racing. A fully fit JV would put over 5 mins on him IMO, the best he can hope for is third. Just IMO.How do you know that? Do you know how each rider will evolve in the next years?
There's nothing certain in cycling.
Maybe in the next years it will appear a new better generation and those guys will not win anymore.
