Winner: Thomas Vokler (he is due after almost beating lance and the ASO, ALFD, and the lab that leaks like a sieve to L'equipe will find anyone ahead of him in the GC 'positive' or in breach of the rules for bathing)

Green Jersey: Robbie Mcewan (if he does not win it the Russian mafia that bet on him will pay him a visit; no one will be as motivated as he is)

Young Rider: George Hincapie (he will look like he is 20 in those fancy 'Apres Ride' jeans he is pimping for $145 USD)

Mountains: Guillaume LE FLOCH (The french house wives need a new Richard Virenque and what more of a french name can you have?)

Team: Katusha (If not they will all be sent to a 30 year training camp at a siberian gulag; Putin is a hardass and these are his rubles on the line)

Perhaps this topic is a bit too early to discuss?

I've heard a rumour about a race starting in the region southeast of France in the beginning of May, don't know how long it will take or if anyone interesting will take part of this race, but it might be worth checking out.

Oh, and what about some sunday racing in the northern region of Europe? No, I'm sure these races noone knows of will be boring and without any particular entertainment value.........

[/irony] in case you were wondering.....

Hey, does anyone know who officially got the polka-dot jersey last year, since Kohl was turfed? F. Schleck and Sastre were tied for 2nd in that competition, but I'm sure there'd be some sort of tie-breaker.

Any idea?

I heard a rumor that pretty much no one who is going to contest that one is going to do well at the Tour. :D

Winner: Contador - as of now he looks like an overwhelming favorite
Green Jersey: Cavendish vs. Boonen battle royale, Danielle Bennati as a dark horse with a shot if he can stay healthy
Young Rider: Thomas LovKvist or A Schleck
Mountains: Gesink
Team: Astana - they just look so good on paper I can't pick anyone else

Oddschecker, options: best odds which are as always skewed by the British/anglophone market:

Contador: 11/10
Armstrong: 5:1
A. Schleck: 8:1
Evans: 14:1
Menchov: 20:1
Sastre: 25:1
Leipheimer: 25:1
Kreuziger: 54:1
F. Schleck: 66:1
Soler: 66:1
Gesink: 80:1
Rogers: 80:1
L.L. Sanchez: 80:1

At 100:1 you can get Basso, Valverde, Kohl, Rasmussen
150:1 for Kloden or Boasson Hagen
Big George is at 250:1
Tommy D. at 500:1
And Cavendish or Boonen is at 1000:1

I guess you need to feel really really lucky to take some of those picks.

I find the odds on Levi somewhat generous.

Other bets you might want to consider:

9:1 for Astana sweeping the podium.
Evans to win a stage: 3:1.
McEwen winning the green jersey: 10:1
Winning nationality: French at 40:1

ETA: o.k. can we let it rest now for another 4 weeks. Please.

Prediction......uuummmm....
Premature fanboy hysteria.
Cadel and Levi come to blows over who gets first choice of wheels to suck.

...then they go all Brokeback Mountain on us.......
