the colombian team is coming with hands down the best team they ever send here. usually b-talent riders from cep/4-72 with the exception of quintana. but this yera hand picked the greatest talents from all over the colombian pro teams and my god are they strong. I also hope they are in form though. miguel lopez could be on a completely different level. better than quintana was in 2010 perhaps

I wouldn't name Chaves a b-talent rider right?

Yes the team is very strong, im also hoping for a Miguel Angel Lopez show. Guess they at least try to get there in their best form as all are preparing specificly for this race. It is unfortunate though that the 4-72 riders and the bond dont have a good connection. With Suaza and maybe Ochoa and or Osorio added to the roster it would be a total dominating squad.

well he was seen as that back then. he definitely never showed any amazing talent in colombia. but he is no doubt a huge talent who came to unbolster at later age. quintana a bit too. but in this years colobmian seleciton for first time are all the loaded young stars from juventud en the major pro teams. reminds me of giro bio team in 2010 where the colombians absolutely humiliated the entire field for a full week

no those 3 riders don't hold a candle to any of teh 6 guys selected now.

Thanks, nice pics I like this years route with some nice climbs. I would have preferred a longer time trial instead of a prologue though!

Yeah definitely agreeing with that, especially Ochoa and Osorio are not in the class of the selected 6 at all.

Suaza is a little bit the onknown factor because he only ride profession bike racing for over a year. But these 6 are good (understatement) enough.

not all of the 6 are climbers of course. but they shoudl dominate this race when in form and not crashed or injured

if you look at the squad, it looks to me Miguel Lopez is the biggest card for GC, followed by Contreras and Ramírez. Gaviria is really fast on the other hand too, apart from being a good climber.

What can we expect from Mario Ramirez and Rozo? Full service or even more?

gaviria and ramirez botero are no climbers. but in europe may be good. same with brayan ramirez who is very heavy build. lopez is their guy yes

Then it's even a really good result to finish second in Juventud. In Europe perhaps you can be a good till decent climber.

I'm meaning more that Gaviria is fast (due to his track history also), but can go over a climb relatively well.

Svendsen from Norway was a surprise last year, but I won't be surprised if Odd-Christian Eiking wins the GC this year. He has looked good this season with a 2nd place finish at Valle d'Aosta where also Lunke finished 5th.

I'm also expecting a lot of Eiking, more then Svendsen. They also have Lunke, which also climbed well in Aosta.

I thought Contreras was more of a tt'er and roleur and not a climber? Really strong squad though. Hope they are on form.

No mater the hype about Colombians, Konrad and Verveake will still the big favoruites.

Konrad the most experienced, and with results in pro races already. Verveake domnating the U23 French stage races, he'll be ready for this.
