Thanks!
He ended up coming in third, I think he's just about ready for the Worlds. He just did a massive pull when Hirschi attacked. He’s back.
Yes but now they know they have to make the race as hard as possible to drop him. The hills were close after each other here, less rest. Don’t know if Mathieu can do it every lap, but the legs are good.He ended up coming in third, I think he's just about ready for the Worlds.
They finish 15 minutes ago and Fausto didn't cross the line yet?
They already knew that. With Mathieu you never know, he can be absolute crap the week before and then dominate, and today he wasn't crap. He wasn't great either though. He had all the trouble in the world following Hirschi, and Hirschi is no Pogacar.Yes but now they know they have to make the race as hard as possible to drop him. Was hoping for a nice positive surprise today, it's been since basically 13 February 2022 since we had one. Everyday since then disappointment. He finished 11:35 after Vansevenant.

I thought maybe he's building the form through deutsch tour, Canada, to this race and the Italian classics. But it's obvious now his level is just awful. Again.
It was nice to see Mauri doing so well though
That's a positive

Looking at his riding style he's the Belgian Escartin...MAURI VANSEVENNENT IS THE BELGIAN ALAPHILIPE
I love it when the winner TAKES the race! NICE MV!
TAKES the race as opposed to hoping it comes to them (waiting for it to happen). As opposed to when the guy finishing 2nd takes it?

Maybe he dug a tunnel under the finish line...
Not sure UCI would accept that as having finished though.
I'm, however, pretty sure the local authorities would get a little annoyed by that. "Dude, what are you doing? Stop digging holes in our roads."
Formolo disqualified? For what ? He did a clean second place
