Is this supposed to mean that Armstrong will ride the race?

The news clipping clearly does not state this, but then Armstrong is listed in parentheses as one of the RadioShack riders. Is there a separate media outlet reporting that he will compete?

Also, the thread title here very clearly indicates that Armstrong will be competing. If this is not the case, then very poor form on the OP's part...

Ditto. It just says shack who have armstrong on their roster. Had a good look on their website and theres no mention of cancer anywhere. Couldnt this just have gone in general news.

They also rather optimistically refer to radioshack as winning the tour de france in 2010. I completely forgot about that ruddy team prize.

well why didnt you include the link to that press release in your original post then.

For obvious reasons, based on the information we were given, neither of us had any reason to beleive that Lance Armstrong would be riding. The AFP press release would appear on the surface to indicate that he may well be. So no, neither of us are seeing stars (whatever that means). we just went on the information YOU provided.

I do however think that press statement is a little vaugue. Yes it says Radioshack led by Lance Armstrong and Robbie Hunter, but, the indian articles also refer to radioshack as the team of Lance Armstrong. I have a feeling that maybe the french AFP release is just taking those words and getting them the wrong way around. I would have thought the Organisers would be announcing if lance was going.

But anyway. next time just put the bloody link in the post. You provide great links, you just seem to forget to include the important ones. In this case the one that appears to say lance is attending. Makes it look like you have some sort of secret info that nobody else has. Youre as bad as the hog sometimes, another who provides great info, but conveniently forgets to include the most important link and makes it look like he is providing exclusives.

So true.

If Lance is indeed riding, I wonder how much they are paying him.

Does India have an extradition agreement with the USA? LA's hidden foreign accounts could sustain him quite well there for years.

Awesome, and in 3 years the Bollywood film will be coming out about the event.

Lance rags to riches to rags story with song and dance routines at all the key monents. I would watch that.Lara Dutta could play lance mum and his wife and Cheryl Crow and his other girlfriends.

Bollywood are the new musicals of the 21st century. I can only hope that some of the Mumbai races main characters are transvestites. That would be a new first in cycling!

Sad to see such riders as McEwen having to ride in these McQuaid circus....sorry, circuit races.
Probably means that for once, all the brown envelopes are coming out of Pat's back pocket, instead of going in the opposite direction.

Armstrong's legal bills must be biting.

What are you talking about. The Tour of Bombay (i really dont know why they insisted on changing it) is second only to the ATOC in terms of prestige.

Lance is bad. Poor McEwen. Lance is bad. Poor riders. Lance is bad. RS is bad. Lance is bad. Tour de Mumbai is bad now. Corrupt, tiny sheitrace. Lance is bad.

Haters preparing the race.

You nearly had me there. Gave it away with the ATOC, though.
Maybe we should start to call it Monty McQuaid's Flying Circus?

Still, at least we can be sure that India knows how to curry flavour.........sorry favour.:D

Cycling as a sport is not popular in India:mad:
Armstrong's not known in India
There are not enough sponsors to invite anybody
There are not good roads
Traffic congestion:mad:
Its a farce to call a 1/2 day race as a tour:eek:
Nashik is so far from mumbai that u cannot call it a tour of mumbai
But i give UCI max points for trying.
However they should try for a tour of India

That statement about Radioshack and Leakygas is wrong. Leakygas didn't win the team award in two GTs, so if you're claiming Leakygas as a double GT winner, you're clearly talking about individual GC and can't claim Radioshack as a GT winner.
