The climbs are in Slovakia ;)

Looking at it though, the big Slovakian stage isn't quite as great as it looks. The circuit climb is, according to the profile, 6,7km at bang on 4%, with a final 1,5km extension on to that on the third ascent at just over 6%.

25km of ITT should still be decisive given this.

The Karpacz stage needs to return.

I'm disappointed with this race design, at least last year we had 2 proper MTF stages. :(

Biggish issues I have with this edition:

8 men teams. Last year the race operated with 6. This parcous will benefit from having less team strength and control. Why go back to 8?

Three long flat stages. 226km, 226km and 236km. In august? I Polen? Waste of road and time imo.

The first stage is live at 17:00 (local) and ends around 19:00, but the following stages returns to 15:15 and therefore doesn't conflict much with other races.

that stage looks super weird, they need to go for a better setting on stage design, looks like hill repeats getting dropped will be no fun on day like that, being in the group key.

What do you think of Jungels to challenge the GC?

He is improving steadily in the medium mountain and has the advantage in the TT. Given that the Bukovina stage usually don't make more than 15/20 seconds of loss I think he can be in the mix.

Climber or timetrialist?
Definetly timetrialist. Stage 5 in Slovakia is not as difficult as it looks and stage 6 is not selective enough.
Hope Mezgec can show some of his catalunya style sprints. From polish side today only national champion Matysiak and my personal tip Dabkowski have potrntial to Top 10 the next 4 stages.

Possible Top 5, but I think Trek will take the Arredondo option for the stages before the TT. If Jungels not loses more than a minute on both stages he can do really well here.

Ha, the lack of cooperation behind is pretty great

GPS timing doesn't seem super reliable though

I hope Paterski wins the stage. Still don't know why Cannondale let him go. He's far better than most of their riders.

what's good about paterski? and I'm sure he left because ccc would pay him more.
