Sprint bonus seconds can be also important in this race. At least when the break cannot take them. If you're not Porte to be way better than other in Willunga, a honest sprint is appreciate.

Perhaps Europeans now realise what Australian riders have put up with since Phil Anderson put the country on the cycling map in the early 80s.I think being 10,000 miles from home soil, and the travel and jet lag, gives a disadvantage to European based riders. Also the best Australian and Kiwis are more likely to participate than the rest of the best from the peloton.
Race not on Max...
the TDU website lists TV2 as a broadcaster, so they do still have the rights at leastI think that's specific for Denmark.
TV2 still don't seem to have it either. I don't know what's going on but last year it was added quite late to the schedule as well, so one can hope.

It's says "men's" in the title. Is this the right thread to discuss the women's race as well?

All stages are now on Max for me in Sweden.Race not on Max...
Eh, technically it is, but the women get only 3 stages which won't interfere with the men's any, so I suppose it's all right the ladies get a bit of spotlight in this otherwise man cave. It's says "men's" in the title.

It says Men's in the title. So, no.Is this the right thread to discuss the women's race as well?
True, any kind of thread where discussion of a bunch of races that are being held at the same time is taking place can get pretty messy and hard to follow, which is partly why I created this thread for the men's TDU. I just thought the women's TDU is so short there won't be much discussion anyway, but I can see why people are opposed to mixing the races up in this thread. Why is the women's race discussed here? I know it's traditional to have the messy all-Australian thread but a joint men's and women's thread is even more messy. Even if the races don't collide date-wise.
I'm not completely opposed to including the women's TDU in this thread, but I included "men's" in the thread title because that is the race I'm specifically targeting so there's no confusion. But if there's some chatter about the women's race in this thread before the men's race even starts I personally don't mind.We often have content about the women's race in a thread that is ostensibly for the men's event, and it rarely causes any discord, and given that the events don't even overlap, I don't get the resistance here.
But seeing as the thread starter for this one (@Tricycle Rider ) has said that she'd rather see this specific to the men's event, and given the (unfathomable, in my mind) perpetual enthusiasm that some have for the Hot racing in Australia thread, I'll move women's race related content to there.
