The century old criterium, run on the same day of the US road championships, is a gathering where all non-US citizens mingle, as well as some USA license holders not available for the star&stripes meet. I've said it before, and will repeat it now: DR kids can't climb, but could spin it on the flats. We placed 5 riders on the top 15. Once again, DR kids had to be reckoned with. Euris(FAD) placed second, Rafa (EN) third; (both from NYC Foundation-CRCA). New kid on the block, Anthony Rod (Sumerville bike shop) placed 7th. This kid, Anthony (EN) is only 19th, already finished second behind Ciclón (Wendy Cruz) and in front of Barei'' (Augusto Sánchez) on VIN 2012 longest stage, 172 KM from Higuey to Sto.Dgo.; Where the heat and the wind worked against Astana pro-Conti. He's bound to be part of the Team Pursuit Team. Meanwhile, all 4 starters on this race were DNF. Deivy Capellán, Cêsar Marte, Stalin Quiterio, and Augusto Sánchez. I must take a trip north, as it is unaceptable for then not to finish.
